Part of the Do'a Iftitah

"Verily my solats, my ibadah, my life and my death I surrender to Almighty Allah, Creator and Lord of all the worlds. Never will I associate anything with Him. So am I commanded and I am of those who are Muslims."

Surah An Nahl (Chapter 16 Verse 125) Holy Al Quran Al Kareem.

" Invite (all Mankind) to the Way of your Lord (Islam) with Wisdom and Beautiful Preaching and Reason (discuss, argue, debate) with them ( Non Muslims and Muslims -deviant, innovators, liberals, alike) in a Way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Knower of those who are guided."

Kerenah Birokrasi Menyulitkan Para Mualaf Malaysia!

Amin.

Kita semua tahu betapa masyarakat Malaysia amat cerewet tentang bab orang menukar agama.

Jangan mencari bala Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

Tak berbaloi kawan!

Ha! Ikutilah luahan rasa kecewa seorang hamba mualaf, kawan saya , Cikgu Aliya yang mengirimkan kisah deritanya menghadapi kerenah birokrasi jabatan jabatan kerajaan ini!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Tapi bukankah Kad Pengenalan ini sudah menunjukkan kerakyatan saya telah disahkan? Kenapa kena ada surat lain dari Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara pula?"
"Maaf. Ini prosedur."
Saya terkilan. Geram. Dua hari yang lalu saya sudah semak segala maklumat yang diperlukan dalam website JPN. Segala bahan yang dinyatakan seperti 2 keping foto terkini, salinan surat beranak, dan salinan kad pengenalan sudah saya sediakan. Bahkan saya turut bawa Surat Akuan Masuk Islam serta Kad Masuk Islam saya bersama ke Jabatan Imigresen.
Tujuan ke situ untuk memohon Pasport Antarabangsa. Biarlah ada pasport dahulu, mudah kalau hendak melancong, melanjutkan pelajaran atau menunaikan haji dan umrah pada masa hadapan.
"Tak lama. Kalau semua bahan ada, esok dah boleh ambil pasport."
Begitulah kata orang. Saya pun berharap begitu.
Kebetulan hari ini cuti khas sekolah. Saya pun bergegas ke Jabatan Imigresen pada waktu pagi. Setelah berpusing-pusing mencari tempat letak kereta, saya akhirnya berjaya ke kaunter imigresen. Nombor diberi. Saya diminta tunggu.
Setelah 30 minit, saya dipanggil.
"Puan kena ada surat pengesahan dari JPN. Semasa buat IC, tak terima surat kelulusan dari Putrajaya kah?" tanya pegawai di kaunter.
"Saya hantar semua borang saya sendiri ke Putrajaya. Tak diberi apa-apa dokumen pun, hanya kelulusan dari sana yang membenarkan permohonan pertukaran IC. Bila saya dapat IC ini pun, pihak JPN tak beri apa-apa surat pengesahan."
Saya mula tidak sedap hati. Tiada satu maklumat bertulis pun yang menyatakan bahawa orang yang bertukar nama pada Kad Pengenalan perlu mendapatkan sepucuk Surat Pengesahan Nombor Kad Pengenalan dari Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara untuk tujuan membuat pasport.
Inilah kali pertama saya diberitahu akan hal ini.
"Puan kena ke Jabatan Pendaftaran untuk mendapatkan surat ini. Maaf, tanpa surat itu, kami tak boleh proses permohonan pasport Puan."
"Kenapa masa saya kemukakan borang di kaunter pemdaftaran, saya tak diberitahu hal ini?
Tak ada pun maklumat tentang perlunya mendapatkan surat dari JPN bagi saudara Islam yang tukar nama, tertampal di mana-mana pejabat ini."
"Bukan selalu orang tukar nama."
Saya minta lihat dokumen yang diperlukan. Barulah saya tahu bahawa rupa-rupanya orang yang tukar nama, yang berbeza dengan nama pada kad pengenalan asal dan surat beranak, perlu mendapat Surat Pengesahan dari Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara.
Walaupun sudah ada Kad Pengenalan yang tertera nama barunya.
"Kalau sudah ada surat ini, apa lagi yang perlu saya buat?" saya cuba mendapatkn kepastian.
"Semua dah cukup, kecuali surat itu saja," kata pegawai tersebut.
Saya terpaksa ke Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara yang terdekat. Jaraknya 30 minit dari Jabatan Imigresen. Sesampainya di sana, pegawai di sana pula tertanya-tanya.
Saya pula yang perlu menerangkan bahawa pihak Jabatan Imigresen menegaskan bahawa mereka hendakkan Surat Pengesahan Kad Pengenalan terbaru sebelum meluluskan permohonan pasport saya.
Akhirnya mereka berjaya mengeluarkan surat tersebut kepada saya. Terima kasih kepada staf yang begitu komited dalam menjalankan tugas. Saya menerima surat yang diperlukan dalam tempoh sejam.
Sekembalinya di Jabatan Imigresen, saya kemukakan sekali lagi segala dokumen yang diperlukan. Saya sabar menunggu.
Harapan di hati, bolehlah saya dapat pasport pada keesokan hari.
"Puan, dokumen semua kami akn fakskan ke Jabatan Keselamatan di Putrajaya untuk mendapatkan kelulusan. Baru Puan bayar wang dan kami akan berikan pasport," kata seorang pegawai lelaki.
"Maksud Encik, saya perlu menunggu lagi? Mengapa perlu mendapat kelulusan Jabatan Keselamatan pula sedangkan semasa saya memohon pertukaran Kad Pengenalan saya dengan nama baru saya (yang Islam), tak pun disebut perlu melalui Jabatan Keselamatan?
Kalau sudah luluskan permohonan Kad Pengenalan baru saya ini, sepatutnya sudah diluluskan Jabatan Keselamatan Dalam Negeri, bukan begitu?" Saya menyuarakan rasa tidak puas hati saya dengan nada seorang guru yang tegas.
"Err, itu Jabatan Pendaftaran. Ini kena melalui Jabatan Keselamatan pula, sebab permohonan pasport di bawah Bahagian Keselamatan dan Paspot," pegawai lelaki itu menghulurkan saya sehelai kertas bercetak.
"Puan cuba telefon nombor ini di Putrajaya, kalau nak mereka segerakan permohonan."
"Berapa lama saya perlu tunggu sebelum saya tahu sama ada permohonan paspot saya diluluskan?"
Saya lihat surat yang dikepilkan.
"Dimaklumkan bahawa keputusan mengenai permohonan tersebut akan diberitahu kepada tuan/puan dalam tempoh satu (1) bulan dari tarikh permohonan..."
"Paling cepat, seminggu."
"Bagaimana saya nak tahu sama ada sudah lulus atau tidak?" saya terus bertanya.
"Kami akan telefon, berdasarkan nombor telefon Puan dalam borang permohonan."
"Encik sedar tak, bukan saya seorang yang sedang dan akan menghadapi masalah ini. Semua orang termasuk orang yang memeluk Islam dan bertukar nama akan menghadapi masalah yang serupa. Mengapa tidak diselaraskan semua sistem supaya tak perlu ulang beberapa kali?
Sudahlah kami diminta menunggu selama sebulan sehingga 3 bulan untuk mendapat kelulusan permohonan pertukaran nama dan maklumat lain dalam Kad Pengenalan, sekarang bila pohon pasport kena pula menunggu sebulan?
Adakah ini hukuman untuk kami yang mengikut prosedur mengisytiharkan diri sebagai orang Islam?
Kalau tak isytihar pengislaman saya dan masih kekal sebagai orang bukan Islam dalam Kad Pengenalan, tak tukar nama dan maklumat diri lain, saya tak perlu susah-susah begini pada hari ini, bukan?"
Pegawai itu diam.
"Puan telefon nombor ini mulai esok. Kalau dah lulus, kami akan telefon Puan supaya datang ambil paspot," ulangnya lagi.
Nampaknya saya perlu menunggu lagi.
Meluat sungguh dengan karenah birokrasi.
Nampaknya kerajaan dan pihak-pihak bertanggungjawab masih kurang prihatin terhadap masalah yang dihadapi oleh kami saudara baru Islam yang menukar nama dari nama asal kepada nama Islam.
Kami masih dilayan dengan pelbagai red-tape, seolah-olah masih menerima hukuman kerana bertukar nama kepada nama Islam yang berbinkan Abdullah.
Kalau mereka yang lain hendak murtad, hendak menukar nama kepada nam lain, tak apa kalau memperketatkan prosedur.
Mengapa kami pula dilonggokkan sekali?
Adakah ini salah satu sebab ramai orang yang memeluk Islam menangguhkan prosedur bertukar maklumat diri setelah memeluk Islam di Jabatan Agama Islam?
Kerenah birokrasi yang menyusahkan, melambatkan dan memberikan pelbagai masalah.
Semuanya berpunca daripada kekurangan maklumat yang tertulis di semua jabatan yang bertanggungjawab. Hanya kerana alasan yang diberi, tak ramai orang yang memeluk Islam.
Kalau saya kekal menggunakan nama asal, kekal menggunakan maklumat diri sebagai bukan Islam, menampilkan diri sebagai bukan Islam tanpa tudung, agaknya permohonan paspot saya sudah lulus pada hari ini.
Geram. Hampa. Kecewa. Very very frustrated.
Ini bukan satu hari saya bangga menjadi rakyat Malaysia.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ubah perangai, ubah minda! Maju bersama Islam bukan menjahanamkannya!

Zikr - Talian hayat menuju keredhaan Allah.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamualaikum wahai Muslimin na wal Muslimat, Mukminin na wal Mukminat.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Tuhan Maha Pencipta, Maha Penyayang,

Dihadapan Allah Azza Wa Jalla..
Di Yaum al Mahsyar..

Manusia rakus..
Berbunuh bunuhan demi segenggam uang..
Sebongkah emas..
Kata mengata..
Caci mencaci..
Hina menghina..
Semua berasaskan menurut rasa..
Tertewas Iman..
Dek penangan nafsu..
Yang senantiasa bergejolak..
Membakar minda..
Melupakan semua larangan dan suruhanNya....

Wahai teman, wahai saudara..
Marilah kita bertafakur sejenak..
Mengenang kembali akan segala perlakuan kita..

Apa masih teringat?
Ketika kita muda belia..
Sesuci embun dihujung daun..

Tatkala jiwa ini..
Masih suci tanpa noda dan dosa...
Sesuci anak anak yang riang gelak ketawa..
Ikhlas tanpa curiga
Tanpa sebarang prasangka..

Kembalilah wahai nafsul amarah...
Kesisi TuhanMu Yang Maha Pengampun, Maha Penyayang..
Sebelum tiba sa'at dan ketika
Ruh mu terbang melayang..

Berzikir bertasbih bertahmid
KepadaNya...

Insya Allah!

Secret of Secret Recipe Jusco Maluri - Faiz & Friends!

Dear brothers & sisters,

Those of you who have had bad experiences with service personnel will surely be able to relate with what I am going to share with you?

How many times have you been to a restaurant or cafe only to be served by a waiter or waitress who should really not have been employed to work there in the first place?

I am sure that most of you will have had many, many bad memories of lousy service and indifferent service personnel whose unprofessional attitude might have spoilt your lunch or dinners with your loved ones and made you vow to never again step in to that particular establishment!

Well, I have had plenty of such experiences and true enough, I have stayed clear from places which have people who don't know how to serve people or seriously lack the skills or intellectual capacity to improve.

Me and my spouse are regulars at Jaya Jusco Maluri and we frequent Secret Recipe for their great coffee and other pastries.

We have come to know many good natured service personnel at Secret Recipe Jusco Maluri and enjoyed their excellent heart felt service.

The latest secret at Secret Recipe Jaya Jusco Maluri is this pleasant good natured guy called Faiz. He always greets us warmly and is always top class where service is concerned.

Today, I prompted him and his friends to pose for this shot and am featuring him here with the ladies as my recommendation for those of you who love to dine at Secret Recipe to try out his great service at Jusco Maluri.

Guys like him are what draws customers like me to frequent the place again and again.

To Faiz, I say 'Congratulations young man! You surely will go far in your career if you keep this up!'.

Thanks for the great service.

Really appreciate it!

Heart Attacks Prevention by drinking Warm Water.

Assalamualaikum dear friends, brothers and sisters.

I received in my email something that I think is very important and if followed could maybe a lifesaving practice?

It concerns our dietary habits and the drinking of iced or cold water during our meals. Hope you will pass this on to your family and friends as well.

May Allah heal us all and give us a decent, healthy life here on Earth whilst we are still alive.

Ameen.

Heart Attacks And Drinking Warm Water

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about Heart Attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

C
ommon Symptoms Of Heart Attack...
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart ! attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one ! life.

Read this & Send to a friend. It could save a life. So, please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

May Allah bless you.

Innocent Pleasures. Those Delightful Moments of Childhood.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Dear brothers & sisters,

Come join me in enjoying these visual delights that have captured these precious moments in time.

I was at Bank Rakyat Bandar Tun Razak the other day when I came across these brother and sister looking so pleased with getting these ice lollies and their faces practically glowing with obvious pleasure.

I just took out our camera and snapped these delightful moments of childhood.

Enjoy.

The black & white rendition is for Eskapisminda. Intan Suzana Ahmad. A connoiseur of such themes.

May we all treasure our children and the stages of their life as best as we can, while we can!

Cheers!

'Grandma is Evil?' The things they put on T-shirts nowadays!

Recently I treated my missus to a dinner at Sri Gombak Kari Kepala Ikan.

This group of young men came in for their dinner as well.

They are engineering students from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak @ UTAR.

What caught my attention was the slogan emblazoned across the t-shirt of one of them!

Hahahahaha!

Grandma is Evil!

Now, could it be due to the T-shirt designer having seen too many screenings of P.Ramlee's 'Ibu Mertua Ku'?

Now, that character truly deserves this title!
So no inheritance from Grandma for you, you ingrate!

Hahahahahahaha!

Serves you right for saying 'Grandma is Evil'!

Episod si Alim yang Zalim. Kejahilan terlampau zaman sekarang.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

'Not this one! Sorry!'

Insya Allah!

'No way!'

Janji senang!

Takde faedah sedikit pun!

Bermakna didalam tempoh waktu satu jam, dah dua tiga kali kita dipantau Izra`il Alaihi Salam!

Hello brader! Ermm...brader tak takut sebab tak sadar akan kehadiran nya bukan?

Maka mulailah belajar!

Amat jarang sekali kita melihat keadaan sedemikian.

Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah.

Teresa Kok doing a 'Lee Kuan Yew' in Malaysian Political Theatre?

She is the 'hot' one in the nation's mainstream and online news now.

From the moment she was photographed posing next to the roadsigns with the Jawi scripts with a not too happy look, I had an inkling that Teresa Kok was going to make the headlines!

You know, such standpoints on 'sensitive matters' will almost always get one in the media spotlight here in Malaysia for whatever that touches on the taboo subjects in Bolehland will see the media personnel flock like hungry vultures and highlight the incident in their newspapers or media broadcasting channels!

I met Teresa just once before during a DAP function where the topic was on the subject of 'Lina Joy's apostasy but we didn't get to chat much because there was a whole lot of things going on at the event.

She was cordial to a stage and willingly posed for pictures with me and MENJ, who was then with me..hehehehe...(L to R : Myself, Tony Pua, MENJ and Teresa Kok)

We all know what has happened to Teresa since she took up so many cases to fight for the underdogs especially the case where we all thought that it was a Chinese national who was forced to do the nude squat thingy at the PJ Police HQ only to turn out that the lady was actually a Malaysian Malay!

Teresa was the one who highlighted the matter in Parliament and sought justice for the woman.

One case after another and we all saw Teresa being implicated in this and that issue till she ended up being arrested under the ISA and then upon being released got into controversy over the 'almost dog food' issue.

Now Datuk Chamil Wiraya is accused of authoring a short story on her although the character is disguised as YB J but the coincidences in his story is just too much to say that it is not her that he refers to?

Now we hear Teresa doing a 'Lee Kuan Yew' by suing all her detractors left, right and all around to the tune of a hundred million ringgits in damages!

Phew!!! That's a record of sorts, I must say!

These fellas who took her to task must be having their heads spinning by now?

Utusan Malaysia, Khir Toyo, Chamil Wiraya are all facing the predicament that the late Singaporean Opposition leader, JB Jeyaretnam faced!

Lee Kuan Yew cleverly whacked JB through the courts until the man was bankrupted and now the Singapore Democrats are also facing Kuan Yew's legal suits which threaten to strip them to their bones and if LKY gets his way, even to their very bone marrows?

So, I am thinking aloud. Is Teresa doing a Lee Kuan Yew here by suing all the big shots who have been sniping at her?

From the looks of it, it sure seems to be so!

P.S.

Err ...Teresa, don't sue me aa siew chier! Mahaguru58 lao pek liao...bo kaw lui!

Kam sia lu aa Teresa!

Belanga Restaurant at Mid Valley Megamall - Gr8 Place 2 Dine in!

Assalamualaikum dear brothers & sisters.

Recently, I had dinner with my spouse at this new Kelantanese restaurant called Belanga Cafe at the Concourse level of The Gardens attached to Mid Valley Megamall.

The address is LG 230B, The Gardens, Mid Valley City, Medan Syed Putra, 59200, Kuala Lumpur.

I had the Nasi Chok, a delicious rice porridge that is really quite nice and of a very good standard, complete with all kinds of stuff like fried anchovies, salted egg, shredded chicken, celery, fried onions, sesame seed oil, etc.

My missus had a bowl of delicious Curry Meehoon.

The friendly supervisor is Brother John Haris from Indonesia. Despite his Christian sounding name, the man is a Muslim. :)

Here's a short movie I made for you from the video clips I shot there during our visit. Worth a visit I say if you are looking for great Kelantanese food.

I hear that this restaurant used to be what was known as Kelantan Delights that used to operate at the Suria KLCC till they were pressured out of business there by the KLCC Management policies - exorbitantly rising rentals?

Its pretty hard to make a decent living nowadays, isn't it?

* Last but not least. The place has free WIFI; so those of you who have notebooks with wireless built in modems or usb dongle sticks can surf the internet for free whilst enjoying your meals at Belanga!

The Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam’s Burial

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Dear brothers and sisters,

As we live our daily lives, engrossed with our endless needs and desires, I wonder as to how many of us bother to reflect on the day and manner by which, our beloved Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam departed from this earthly life and what actually transpired there in Madinah al Munawwarah, the 2nd most holiest place here on Earth for us Muslims?

I came across this clear article from :

http://www.witness-pioneer.org/vil/Books/MH_LM/prophets_burial.htm

which records in the simplest terms all that took place on the day that Muhammad al Mustafa was summoned back to the Mercy of Ar Rahman, having completed his successful mission here on Earth.

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala bless the ones who have shared this with us. Ameen.

Without further adieu, here is the article which every Muslim, male and female ought to read and reflect upon at least once in his or her life and in turn, forward it to those in their list.

Insya Allah.

The Prophet's Burial

Muslim Shock at the News of His Death

It was in `A'ishah's quarters, while his head lay in her lap that the Prophet-may God's peace and blessing be upon him chose the company of God on High.

When this happened, `A'ishah laid his head down on a pillow and joined the other women of the house who rushed to her upon hearing the news and began to cry in bereavement and sorrow. The Muslims at the mosque were taken by surprise by the sudden noise.

In the morning, they had seen the Prophet and were convinced his health was improving so much that Abu Bakr, it will be remembered, sought permission to go and visit his wife at al Sunh.

`Umar Belies the News

Upon hearing the news and hardly believing it, 'Umar al Khattab returned quickly to the Prophet's quarters. Upon arrival, he went straight to Muhammad's bed, uncovered and looked at his face for a while.

He perceived its motionlessness and deathlike appearance as a coma from which he believed Muhammad would soon emerge.

Al Mughirah tried in vain to convince 'Umar al Khattab of the painful fact.

`Umar, however, continued to believe firmly that Muhammad did not die.

When al Mughirah insisted, `Umar said to him in anger, "You lie."

The two went to the mosque together while 'Umar al Khattab was proclaiming at the top of his voice,

"Some hypocrites are pretending that the Prophet of God-may God's peace and blessing be upon him-has died.

By God I swear that he did not die: that he has gone to join his Lord, just as Moses went before.

Moses absented himself from his people fourteen consecutive nights and returned to them after they had declared him dead.

By God, the Prophet of God will return just as Moses returned.

Any man who dares to perpetrate a false rumor such as Muhammad's death shall have his arms and legs cut off by this hand."

At the mosque, the Muslims heard these proclamations from `Umar al Khattab - they were shocked and stupefied.

If Muhammad truly died, woe unto all those who saw him and heard him, who believed in him and in the God Who sent him a conveyor of true guidance and religion.

Their bereavement would be so great that their hearts and minds would break asunder.

If, on the other hand, it were true that Muhammad had not died but had gone to join his Lord, as `Umar claimed, that was reason for an even greater shock.

The Muslims should then await his return which, like that of Moses, would be all the more reason for wonder.

The Muslim crowds sat around `Umar and listened to him, inclined as they were to agree with him that the Prophet of God did not die.

At any rate, they could not associate death with the man whom they had beheld in person only a few hours before and whose clear and resonant voice they had heard pray and invoke God's mercy and blessing.

Moreover, they could not convince themselves that the friend whom God had chosen for the conveyance of His divine message, to whom all the Arabs had submitted, and to whom Chosroes and Heraclius were also soon to submit, could possibly die.

They could not believe that a man could die who had shown such power as had shaken the world for twenty consecutive years and had produced the greatest spiritual storm of history.

The women, however, were still beating their faces and crying at Muhammad's house, a sure sign that Muhammad had really died.

Yet, here in the mosque, `Umar was still proclaiming that Muhammad had not died; and that he had gone to join his Lord as Moses had done; that those who spoke of Muhammad's death were hypocrites who would suffer the cutting of their arms and necks by Muhammad upon his return.

What would the Muslims believe? As they recovered from their severe shock, hope began to stir within them in consequence of `Umar's claim that Muhammad was to return, and soon they almost believed their own wishes.

Their wishful thinking had apparently painted for them the sky a beautiful blue.

Enter Abu Bakr

As they wavered between believing `Umar or the indubitable meaning of the women's crying, Abu Bakr heard the news and returned from al Sunh.

He looked through the door of the mosque and saw the Muslims being addressed by `Umar, but he did not tarry there. He went straight to the quarters of `A'ishah and asked for permission to enter. He was answered that there was no need that day for. permission.

He entered and found the Prophet laid down in a corner and covered with a striped cloth. He approached, uncovered the face and kissed it, saying, "How wholesome you are, whether alive or dead!"

He then held the Prophet's head in his hands and looked closely at the face which showed no sign whatever of death's attack.

Laying it down again, he said, "What would I not have sacrificed for you! The one death which God has decreed for you, as for any other man, to taste, you have now tasted. Henceforth, no death shall ever befall you."

He covered the head with the striped cloth and went straight to the mosque where `Umar was still proclaiming loudly that Muhammad had not died.

The crowds made a way for him to the front, and as he came close to `Umar he said to him "Softly, O `Umar ! Keep silent!" But `Umar would not stop talking and continued repeating the same claim.

Abu Bakr rose and made a sign to the people that he wished to address them.

No one could have dared impose himself upon the congregation in such manner except Abu Bakr, for he was the ever trustworthy friend of the Prophet, whom Muhammad would have chosen from among all men.

Hence, it was natural that the people hastened to respond to his call and move away from `Umar.

Muhammad Is Truly Dead

After praising and thanking God, Abu Bakr delivered the following brief address:

"O Men, if you have been worshipping Muhammad, then know that Muhammad is dead. But if you have been worshipping God, then know that God is living and never dies."

He then recited the Qur'anic verse:

144. Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun qad khalat min qablihi alrrusulu afa-in mata aw qutila inqalabtum AAala aAAqabikum waman yanqalib AAala AAaqibayhi falan yadurra Allaha shay-an wasayajzee Allahu alshshakireena

144. Muhammad is no more than an apostle: many Were the apostle that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah. but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude.

Realizing that the people were withdrawing from him and going to Abu Bakr, `Umar fell silent and listened to Abu Bakr's speech. Upon hearing Abu Bakr recite the Qur'anic verse, `Umar fell to the ground.

The certainty that the Prophet of God was truly dead shattered him. Beguiled by `Umar's speech, the people listened to Abu Bakr's statement and to the Qur'anic verse as if it was given to them for the first time. They had forgotten that there was any such revelation.

Abu Bakr's stark words dissipated all doubt and uncertainty. His Qur'anic quotation reassured the Muslims that their holding fast to God Who never dies would more than compensate for Muhammad's passing.

Further Thoughts on Muhammad's Death

Did `Umar exaggerate when he convinced himself that Muhammad had not died, when he tried to cause the people to believe likewise?

The answer must be in the negative. In like vein, men of science tell us that the sun will continue to rise in the morning until a certain day when it will explode and disappear.

Does anyone of us accept such a claim without entertaining a doubt as to its validity and truth?

Does not everyone of us ask himself, "How could the sun explode, disappear, and go away, the sun by whose light and warmth everything in the world lives?

How could it explode and disappear and the world continue thereafter even for one day?" And yet, was the light of Muhammad any less brilliant than that of the sun or his warmth and power any less strong than those of the sun?

The sun is source of much good. But was not Muhammad the source of as much and equal good? The sun stands in communion with all beings.

But was not the soul of Muhammad equally in communion with all being?

Does not his blessed memory still fill the whole universe with its grace and beauty?

No wonder then that `Umar was not convinced that Muhammad could have died, and in truth, in one sense Muhammad did not die and will not die.

Having seen him that morning when he went to the mosque and, like all other Muslims, having thought that the Prophet had recovered his health, Usamah ibn Zayd returned to al Jurf with those of his colleagues who had accompanied him to Madinah in search of reassuring news.

He ordered the army to prepare to march to al Sham; but before the army proceeded forth, it heard the news of the Prophet's death.

Usamah ordered the army to return to Madinah. He hung his command flag on the door of 'A'ishah's quarters and decided to wait until the Muslims recovered from their shock.

At Banu Sa'idah's Court

In fact, the Muslims were wondering which step to take. After hearing Abu Bakr and knowing for certain that Muhammad had died, they dispersed.

Some of the al Ansar gathered around Sa'd ibn `Ubadah in the courtyard of Banu Sa'idah. `Ali ibn Abu Talib, al Zubayr ibn al `Awwam, and Talhah ibn `Ubaydullah gathered in the house of Fatimah; and al Muhajirun, together with the Usayd ibn Hudayr as well as Banu `Abd al Ashhal, gathered around Abu Bakr.

Soon a man came to Abu Bakr and `Umar to inform them that al Ansar were gathering around Sa'd ibn `Ubadah.

The informant added that the two leaders should go out and reorganize Muslim leadership before the division of the Muslim community got any worse.

Since the Prophet of God (may God's peace and blessing be upon him) was still laid out in his house and unburied, it was surely unbecoming that the Muslims begin to divide among themselves.

`Umar pleaded with Abu Bakr to go with him immediately to al Ansar and see what they were doing?

On the way thither, they were met by two upright and trustworthy Ansar men who, when questioned, remarked that al Ansar were contemplating separatist ideas.

When the two Ansar men questioned Abu Bakr and `Umar in turn and learned from them that they were going to al Ansar's gathering, they advised them not to go but to try to settle the Muhajirun's own affairs.

`Umar was determined to go and Abu Bakr was not difficult to persuade on this point. They came to the courtyard of Banu Sa'idah and found that al Ansar had gathered around a man wrapped up in a blanket.

`Umar ibn al Khattab asked who the man was, and he was told that that was Sa'd ibn `Ubadah suffering from a serious sickness.

`Umar and Abu Bakr, joined at this moment by a number of Muhajirun, took their seats in the assembly.

Soon, a speaker rose and addressed a1 Ansar in the following words after praising God and thanking Him:

"We are al Ansar-ie., the helpers of God and the army of Islam. You, the Muhajirun, are only a brigade in the army. Nonetheless, a group of you have gone to the extreme of seeking to deprive us of our natural leadership and to deny us our rights."

Actually, this complaint had always been on al Ansar's lips, even during the Prophet's lifetime.

When `Umar heard it being voiced again, he could hardly restrain himself. Indeed, he was ready to put an end to this situation once and for all by the sword, if needed.

Fearing that harsh treatment might aggravate rather than improve matters, Abu Bakr held `Umar back and asked him to act gently.

He then turned to al Ansar, saying:

"O men, we, the Muhajirun, were the first men to convert to Islam. We enjoy the noblest lineage and descendence.

We are the most reputable and the best esteemed as well as the most numerous of any group in Arabia.

Furthermore, we are the closest blood relatives of the Prophet. The Qur'an itself has given us preference.

For it is God-may He be praised and blessed-Who said, `First and foremost were al Muhajirun, then al Ansar, and then those who have followed these two groups in virtue and righteousness.' [Qur'an, 9:100]

We were the first to emigrate for the sake of God, and you are literally `al Ansar', i.e., the helpers.

However, you are our brethren in religion, our partners in the fortunes of war, and our helpers against the enemy.

All the good that you have claimed is truly yours, for you are the most worthy people of mankind.

But the Arabs do not and will not recognize any sovereignty unless it belongs to the tribe of Quraysh.

The princes shall be from among us, whereas your group will furnish the viziers."

At this, a member of al Ansar became furious and said: "Rather am I, the experienced warrior! On my arm every verdict shall rest. And my verdict is that the people of Quraysh may have their prince as long as we, too, may have our own."

Abu Bakr repeated his proposition that the princes of the Muslims must be of the Quraysh whereas their vizers must be of al Ansar.

Taking the hand of `Umar ibn al Khattab as well as that of Abu `Ubaydah ibn al Jarrah, who were sitting on either side of him, Abu Bakr said, "Either one of these two men is acceptable to us as leader of the Muslim community. Choose whomsoever you please."

Nomination of Abu Bakr to the Caliphate

At that moment, all the men present began to talk at the same time, and the meeting itself was on the verge of disintegration.

With his usual clear and loud voice, `Umar said:

"O Abu Bakr, stretch forth your hand and I will give you my oath of fealty.

Did not the Prophet himself command you to lead the Muslims in prayer?

You, therefore, are his successor. We elect you to this position. In electing you, we are electing the best of all those whom the Prophet of God loved and trusted."

`Umar's words touched the hearts of the Muslims present, as they truly expressed the Prophet's will up to and including the last day of his life.

On that day they had witnessed his insistence that Abu Bakr lead the prayer even in his presence.

Thus, the difference between al Muhajirun and al Ansar was dissolved, and members of both camps came forward to give their oath of fealty.

Abu Bakr's Election

On the following day, as Abu Bakr took his place at the pulpit of the mosque, `Umar ibn al Khattab rose before the congregation and said, after offering due praise to God: "

Yesterday, I presented to you a novel idea. I drew it neither from the Book of God, nor from any memory I have of the Prophet of God.

It just occurred to me that the Prophet of God would continue to lead us in this world forever and that he would survive us all. But now I know better.

God has left us His Holy Book, the Repository of His Prophet's guidance.

If we hold closely to it, God will surely guide us to the same felicity to which he guided His Prophet. God has consolidated you together under the leadership of the best man among you, of the companion of the Prophet of God-may God's peace and blessing be upon him-who was blessed by God with the honor of the Prophet's company in the cave when the Makkans were following in close pursuit. Rise and give him your oath of fealty."

All the men rose and pledged their loyalty to Abu Bakr. That was the public bay'ah,

[In Islamic political theory, "bay'ah" means the investment of the caliph with political authority. It consists of a "private" and "public" investment.

The former amounts to nomination of the caliph by a number of supporters; the latter to confirmation of the private bay'ah by the electorate at large.

It is only when the two bay'ahs have taken place and have been accepted by the caliph that he is said to have legitimately acceded to the caliphate. -Tr.] following the private bay'ah in the courtyard of Banu Sa'idah.

Inaugural Speech of the First "Rashidun" Caliph

Thereafter, Abu Bakr rose and delivered a speech, which may be regarded as one of the most illustrious embodiments of wisdom and sound judgment. After thanking God and praising Him, Abu Bakr said

"O Men! Here I have been assigned the job of being a ruler over you while I am not the best among you.

If I do well in my job, help me. If I do wrong, redress me. Truthfulness is fidelity, and lying is treason. The weak shall be strong in my eyes until I restore to them their lost rights, and the strong shall be weak in my eye until I have restored the rights of the weak from them.

No people give up fighting for the cause of God but God inflicts upon them abject subjection; and no people give themselves to lewdness but God envelops them with misery.

Obey me as long as I obey God and His Prophet. But if I disobey God's command or His Prophet's, then no obedience is incumbent upon you. Rise to your prayer, that God may bless you."

The Quest for a Burial Site

Throughout the Muslims' disputing of the question of success at the courtyard of Banu Sa'idah and in the mosque, the Prophet's remains were lying on his bed surrounded by his next of kin.

After the election of Abu Bakr, the people came to the Prophet's house to prepare for his funeral and burial.

There was disagreement as to where the Prophet was to be buried. Some Muhajirun advised that he ought to be buried in Makkah, his native town, in the proximity of his own relatives.

Others advised that he ought to be buried in Jerusalem where the Prophets were buried before him.

The latter was certainly a baffling view considering that Jerusalem was in the hands of the Byzantines, and the relations between them and the Muslims were most hostile, especially since the Mu'tah and Tabuk campaigns.

Indeed, an army which the Prophet himself had mobilized and placed under the leadership of Usamah was supposed to fight them and avenge the Muslim defeat in those campaigns.

At any rate, the proposals to bury the remains in Makkah or in Jerusalem were both rejected.

The Muslims resolved to bury him in Madinah, the city which gave him shelter and assistance and which was the first one to raise the banner of Islam.

Once this decision was made, they proceeded to look for a proper location for burial.

Some advocated burial in the mosque where he used to address the people, preach the faith, and lead them in prayer.

They thought that the most appropriate place was either the very spot of ground where the pulpit stood or the spot next to it.

This opinion, however, did not meet with approval.

`A'ishah had related that in his last days, whenever his pain increased, the Prophet used to uncover his face to curse such people as had taken the grave of their prophets as places of worship.

Abu Bakr solved the issue when he proclaimed that he had heard the Prophet say that prophets should be buried wherever they die. This opinion carried the day.

Preparing the Body for Burial

Washing the Prophet's body before burial was performed by his next of kin, by `Ali ibn Abu Talib, al `Abbas ibn `Abd al Muttalib and his two sons, al Fadl and Qutham, as well as by Usamah ibn Zayd. Usamah ibn Zayd and Shuqran, the Prophet's client, poured the water while `Ali washed the body, covered as it was by Muhammad's nightgown.

It was decided that the Prophet's body should not, under any circumstance whatever, be fully exposed.

As they performed their washing, contrary to what is usual in such cases, the body emitted beautiful smells, so that `Ali said continually: "By God, what would I give for you! How sweet you are and how wholesome you are, both alive and dead!"

Some western Orientalists sought to explain this fair scent emitted from the body of the Prophet by calling it the result of the perfume which he used so lavishly, remembering that he once declared it one of the good things he truly loved in this world.

When the washing was completed, the Prophet's body was wrapped in three shrouds: two made in Suhar and the third in Hibarah in Yaman.

When this operation was completed, the body was left where it was and the doors were flung open for the Muslims to enter from the mosque, to take a last look at their Prophet, and to pray for him.

[The reader may be thrown off by this usage of "pray upon" instead of the commonplace "pray for." In the Muslim practice nobody "prays for" the Prophet in the sense that one prays for a departed loved one. Prayer upon the Prophet is much more formal and is commanded by the Qur'an (33:56). It is a main part of Muslim worship to use the Qur'anic "pray upon" in invoking God's blessing upon His Prophet. -Tr.]

Undoubtedly, they emerged deeply moved and conscious of their terrible bereavement.

The Funeral Prayer

The room was practically full when Abu Bakr and `Umar entered the room and joined the Muslims in a funerary prayer for the Prophet.

The prayer was performed without a leader.

When it was over, Abu Bakr began to pray aloud, saying:

"Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you, O Prophet of God.

We witness that the Prophet of God and His apostle conveyed the message entrusted to him by his Lord and that he exerted himself and fought in His cause until God gave victory to His religion.

We equally witness that the Prophet of God and His apostle fully performed his promise and that he commanded us to worship none but God alone who has no associates."

At the end , of every phrase, the Muslims responded together, "Amen, Amen."

When this prayer was complete, the men left and the women and children took turns taking a last look at the Prophet.

One and all, every man, woman and child, emerged from that room torn with sorrow and crushed by a sense of bereavement for the loss of the Prophet of God, the Seal of His apostles.

They were full of apprehension that some calamity might befall the religion of God in the future.

A Grave Moment of History

No man can today reconstruct this thirteen-centuries-old scene in his imagination without being filled with awe and reverence.

The anguishing view of this body laid down in a corner of the room which was to become a grave the following day and which until the day before reverberated with Muhammad's vitality, mercy, and light, filled the hearts of the faithful mourners with apprehension.

It could not have been otherwise. For, there lay the man who had called men to truth, to the path of righteousness and had struck for them the highest example of goodness, mercy, courage, chastity, purity, and justice.

As the crowds of Muslims passed by his bier despondent, disheartened, and dispirited, every man, woman, and child among them saw in the body that lay motionless before him his own father, brother, friend, trustworthy companion, Prophet, and Apostle of God.

To recall that hour is surely to reconstruct a pathetic scene. Even as he writes about it, this author is seized by the grip of its terror and can hardly overcome the consequent anguish.

Confusion of the Men of Little Faith

It was natural for the Muslims to be apprehensive of the future. Indeed, as soon as the news of the Prophet's death spread in Madinah and reached the Arab tribes in the surrounding area, Jews and Christians sprang to their feet, hypocrisy took a new lease on life, and the faith of many weak Arabs fell into confusion.

The Makkans sought to abjure Islam, and they did so to the extent of instilling fear in `Attab ibn Asid, their governor appointed by the Prophet to rule them.

Suhayl ibn `Amr, following the news of the Prophet's death, stood up in their midst and said:

"The Prophet's death shall increase the power of Islam and strengthen it.

Whoever attacks us or abjures our cause, we shall strike with the sword.

O People of Makkah! you were the last to enter Islam.

Do not, therefore, be the first to desert it.

Have faith that God will bring you final victory just as the Prophet of God-may God's peace and blessing be upon him-has promised you."

Only then did the Makkans change their minds.

The Prophet's Burial

The Arabs knew two ways of digging graves.

The Makkans made their graves flat at the bottom while the Madinese made them curved.

Abu `Ubaydah ibn al Jarrah was the gravedigger for the Makkans, and Abu Talhah Zayd ibn Sahl was gravedigger for the Madinese.

The Prophet's relatives could not choose between them.

The Prophet's uncle, al 'Abbas, sent two men to call the two gravediggers for a consultation.

Only one was found and could respond to the call, and that was Abu Talhah, the Madinese.

He therefore was commissioned to dig a grave for the Prophet of God as he knew best.

When evening came and the Muslims had taken leave of the body of their Prophet, Muhammad's relatives prepared for the burial.

They waited until a quarter or a third of the night had passed before proceeding with the burial.

In the grave, they spread out a red mantle that once belonged to the Prophet, and the men who had washed the body lowered it to its last repose.

They built over it a bridge with bricks and then covered the grave with sand.

`A'ishah said: "We did not learn of the burial of the Prophet of God-may God's peace and blessing be upon him until midnight or later"; and so did Fatimah report.

The Prophet was buried on Tuesday night, 14th of Rabi` I, two days after his death, in the year 10 A.H.

`A'ishah and the Grave Room

`A'ishah lived thereafter in her quarters, next door to the Prophet's grave, contented with her proximity to this holy precinct.

When Abu Bakr died, he was buried in the immediate vicinity of the Prophet's grave, as was `Umar ibn al Khattab thereafter.

It is related that `A'ishah used to visit the grave room without veil until `Umar was buried therein, i.e., during the time it contained only the grave of her father and husband.

But after `Umar's burial, she entered the room only when fully veiled.

Expediting Usamah's Army on Its March

As soon as the burial of the Prophet was completed, Abu Bakr commanded that the army of Usamah begin its march on al Sham in execution of the commandment the Prophet of God had issued in his last days.

Some Muslims objected to this measure just as they had during the sickness of Muhammad.

`Umar joined the ranks of these objectors on the grounds that the Muslim forces ought not to be dispersed in this grave hour.

Abu Bakr, however, did not hesitate to follow the commandment left unfulfilled by the Prophet at his death.

He refused to give credit to those who counseled that an older and more experienced general in war than Usamah be appointed to lead that army.

Al Jurf remained the rallying place for the army, and Usamah remained its leading general.

Abu Bakr went out in person to see the army off on its march.

It was there that Abu Bakr asked Usamah to absolve `Umar ibn al Khattab from his duty to go forth in the army so that he might remain in Madinah in close proximity to Abu Bakr who needed his advice in his first days of administration.

Twenty days after the army began its march northward, the Muslims launched their attack against al Balqa' and avenged the Muslims' setback in Mu'tah where Usamah's father fell under Byzantine arms.

The war cry in that campaign was "O Victor! Give death to the enemy!"

Thus Abu Bakr and Usamah fulfilled the commandment of the Prophet, and the army returned to Madinah victorious.

Usamah was at its head, riding the very horse on which his father died at the Battle of Mu'tah, and carrying high the banner which the Prophet of God had entrusted to him in person.

Prophets Leave No Inheritance

After the death of the Prophet, his daughter Fatimah asked Abu Bakr to return to her the land the Prophet kept for himself at Fadak and Khaybar.

Abu Bakr, however, answered her by quoting her father's words:

"We, the Prophets, do not leave any inheritance for anyone.

Whatever we do leave shall be given out in charity."

Continuing with his own words, Abu Bakr said:

"However, if it was the case that your father had made a grant to you of this property, then I shall certainly honor your word to this effect and fulfill for you his commandment."

At this, Fatimah answered that her father had not made any such grant to her at all, but that Umm Ayman had informed her that that might have been Muhammad's purpose.

Abu Bakr therefore resolved that the lands of Fadak and Khaybar should be kept by the public treasury of the Muslims as state domain.

Muhammad's Great Spiritual Legacy

Thus Muhammad left this world just as he had entered, without material shackles.

His only inheritance left to mankind was the religion of truth and goodness.

He had paved the ground and laid the foundation for the great civilization of Islam which had covered the world in the past and would cover the world in the future.

It was a civilization in which tawhid, or the unitization of God, was the cornerstone; and an order in which the word of God and His commandments are always uppermost, while those of unfaith are nethermost.

It was a civilization purged absolutely clean of all paganism and of all idolatrous forms and expressions, a civilization in which men were called upon to cooperate with one another for the good and moral felicity of all men, not for the benefit of any group or people.

Muhammad left to this world the Book of God, a guidance and mercy to mankind, while the memory of his own life gave the highest and noblest example for man's emulation.

One of the last sermons which the Prophet delivered to the people during his illness contained the following words:

"O Men! If I have lashed the back of anyone, let him come forward and lash my back in return. If I have insulted anyone, let him come forth and take satisfaction of me.

If I have dispossessed anyone of any wealth, let him come forth and seize his wealth from me.

If there be any such men as these, let them come forth without fear of retaliation or hatred, for neither of these become of me."

Only one man came forth to make a claim, that Muhammad owed him three dirhams; he was paid in full by Muhammad on his deathbed.

The Prophet left this world an inheritance of a great spiritual legacy whose light continues to illumine the world and will continue to illumine the world until God completely fulfills His promise and gives victory to His religion over all the religions despite all unbelievers.

May God's peace and blessing be upon Muhammad!

Amin Ya Rabbal Alamin.

Err..R U a Muslim? Then U can't be a Racist! Get it?

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Dear brothers and sisters.

The latest developments in our beloved nation are bothering me. Bothering me so much that I can only pray to Almighty Allah that commonsense will prevail. Prevail in our hearts and minds, irrespective of who we are or claim to be?

I mean, why are we Malaysians so stuck up on race?

What guarantee is there that this race is good, that race is bad?

If we are true to ourselves, then please tell me as to what race is notorious in raping, molesting and murdering our innocent children here in Malaysia?

The police statistics will show that a particular ethnicity is infamous for hitting the charts as far as sexual crimes against their fellow race or ethnicity is concerned.

Today, we read the news report that the bastard security guard who raped and murdered that innocent 10 year old girl is being spared the gallows and also not going to get his filthy butt whacked with the cane because he is over age!

What kind of a screwed up justice is that?

The bloody rapist and his accomplices raped and sodomized a poor child and murdered her in cold blood without an iota of mercy or compassion!

What race was she and what faith did she grow up into?

Is there any sense of justice here in Bolehland which prides itself to be a model Islamic nation in this gone stir crazy world?

Where is the dignity of belonging to any particular race?

Even Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam suffered so much due to the atrocities of his own kith and kin, his uncles Abu Lahab and Abu Jahal plus the others.

Can we afford to discriminate against others just based upon the difference of our skin color and lineage?

After all, aren't we all members of the human race?

Why is it that the Malays of this land who declare themselves as Muslims run foul of what the Blessed Prophet of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala forbade?

The Blessed Messenger forbade us Muslims to discriminate against anyone based upon the color of their skin!

Don't tell me that the Malays of this land especially the Malay Sultans and Raja's are oblivious to the prohibition by the Rasul of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to not be unjust to others based upon their ethnicity? What more of the Malaysian Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers?

Are they all deaf, dumb and blind to what Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam enjoined and forbade?

Please reassure me and my other fellow Malaysians that the Islam that we profess is the very same that Muhammad the Greatest and Final Messenger of Allah the Almighty God revealed for us all!

It is all there, expressed so very clearly in the Khutba al Wida @ The Final Sermon of Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam, Khatamun Nabiyyi al Mustafa.

I don't care how many times I have to keep reminding all these people in power and authority that whatever that they do today in the name of 'The Law' (manmade laws set to their own whims and fancies) that they will be judged before Almighty Allah Azza Wa Jalla in the Yaum al Mahsyar where all these worldly titles, honorifics and so called blueblood aristocracy will diminish and disappear before the Majesty and Supremacy of the Lord of all Creation!

Here is what I posted before on September the 6th 2008:

******************************************************************

Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam, the Final Prophet and Greatest Messenger of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala stated in his Khutba al Wida @ the Final Sermon:

"Praised be Allah; we extol Him, we seek His succour, forgiveness, and refuge, and we seek His pardoning of all our unrestrained actions.

For whom He guides, none can misguide, and whom He misguides, none can guide.

I Muhammad, am Thine witness, there is none other, besides Allah, fit for worship, for He is the One and Only; for none, and nothing, equals Him.

I witness that I, Muhammad, seeking peace and blessings of the Lord upon my person, am His servant, and the messenger He hath sent to you.

And I begin: by enjoining the fear of God unto thee, and I ask you to follow the Lord's ordained way, only because, there is much good for you in such following.

O ye people, listen carefully to what I say today, for I reckon it is unlikely that we will ever meet again in this context at Arafat. {Reported in Jamharata Khatabul Arab.}

So let ye all know, this is the month of Zulhijjah. Know ye, this is the city of Makkah, and know ye the day, today, is the Day of Sacrificing. Remember your lives, your properties and your honor are as sacred as this day, this city, and as this month are sacred.

For soon we are all to meet our Creator, and He will ask us about our doings. So do not go astray after I am gone; squandering away what I have taught thee, and start killing one another as you did in the days of ignorance.

Those present here should convey the message to the absent witness, for it is likely those not present will heed and remember the message better than you do.

Know ye, I have delivered the message of God. {Reported in Muslim, Bukhari, by Ahmad un Abi Bakr.}

Do not usurp but what you are allowed, granted to you by your brother in faith, of a free willed sharing. Remember, blood feuds, riches, dignities, and positions of honor, of the days of ignorance, I rescind under my feet, until the Day of Judgment.

The first blood feud ended is of my infant cousin, Rabia Bin Haris's murder; forgiven, and the blood feud ended.

Remember, all kinds of interest... on monies; profiteering, and discounts... (reminders of the days of ignorance) are banished from our lives forthwith, for the Lord hath so decreed.

And the first interest to be banished from our lives is the one due to my Uncle Abbas, and annulled; though not annulling his right to the principal of the amount loaned.

Do not oppress the borrower in demanding harshly what is your due of the principal? Be lenient in your asking back of the loaned.

O ye people, do not shift the sequence of months, for such is an act in excessive disbelief, for it is thus that disbelievers go wrong; in declaring some as sacred, and others as unsacred months, according to their needs.

The non-believers change the ordained sequence of the months in order to perform, earlier or later, what is the ordained sequence of sacred months ordained sacred by God. Doubtlessly, time returns to the its original state of when the heavens and the earth were created.

Certainly, in terms of count, Allah has created twelve months in the year. Four of these are especially venerable; three of these four are contiguous in sequence, and one, between the first and the third, is distinct, you should know...

Have I conveyed? My Lord, Thou art mine witness. {Reported in Jamharat Khatab ul Arab.}

O ye people, fear Allah the Almighty in matters of women, because you have taken them under your personal protection from under God's protection, rendering women lawful unto thee, by the word of Allah. {Reporter, Muslim un Jabir.}

Be kind to women, they are your amanah (trusts) in protection, but you do not own of their things, except bodies, when they exceed the limits and indulge in open obscenity. You should remove them from your beds; do reprimand them physically, but slightly, thou art certainly not to break their bones in chastisement.

But when the women return to fealty, then do not look for excuses to oppress them. Remember, "your rights over your women are the same they have over you."

Your rights are the fidelity of your women, to the point of not even allowing the persons you think are bad in the premises of your house. And they have the right of your sustaining them and caring for them. {Reporters: Tirmizi, un Amro bin al Hause.}

I leave with you, to hold on fast unto, and you shall never go astray; the book of Allah, and His prophet's demonstrated ways of following the book ordained.

You will be asked about me, and be required to stand witness of my conveying the message, and of having admonished you properly. What will you say?

[The Congregate replied with a single voice, "We shall be your witnesses, and we will say, 'O Lord, the prophet hath conveyed Your message, and delivered his prophetic due, and in such, he did only good for the Ummat.']

{The Prophet, raising his index finger skywards, brought it back, pointing down at the congregation, and said aloud, thrice:}

O my Lord, be always the witness. O my Lord, be always the witness. O my Lord, be always the witness. {Reporters: Muslim, and Jabir, and Targheeb o Tarheeb un Ibn e Abbas.}

Know ye, none is to bear the other's burden, for one is to bear one's own burden; in that the one who sins shall be punished for the committed sin. No father will be punished for his son's sins, nor the son punished for his father's sins.

Know ye, each Muslim is a brother of the other Muslim; but this does not allow that one treats anything belonging to his brother as his own, except what a brother might willingly give him. {Reported in Tirmizi, un Umro Ibnal Haus.}

O ye people, Satan hath lost hope for ever that it would be worshipped at the ends of time, but is consoled in your doing what you consider trivial and minor sins. So in matters of belief, guard well against what you might consider the trivial and minor sins. {Reported in Seerat Ibne Kaseer.}

Without doubt, positions and authority of the days of ignorance; except the service of providing Hajjis with drinking water, stand abolished.

The punishment for attacking with the deliberate intent of murdering is in the like execution of the murderer. But a murder 'involving' the instruments of a stick or a stone, though resembling the intended, is only likened to the deliberate, and punishment for such is the giving in fine of a hundred camels by the murderer.

Whosoever exceeds these limits is from among the ignorant. {Reported in Jamharat Khatab al Arab.}

O ye people, without doubt, God is one, just the same as you can have only one father. All of you are children of Adam, and he was fashioned from the earth's clay.

Beware, no Arab is superior to an alien, nor is an alien superior to the Arab.

No red is superior to the black, nor is a black superior to the red.

For human excellence is in the effort we make in our trying to follow the ordained word of Allah, and the actions of his prophet, in word and deeds.

Allah's honored are those blessed amongst you who fear Him most. Hearken! Have I conveyed? The companions said, 'Yes, you have conveyed, peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.'

The prophet, peace and blessings of the Lord be upon him, then said, O ye present, convey my words to the absent witness. {Reported in Targheeb o Tarheeb un Jabar bin Abdallah, Jamhrata Khatab ul Arab.}

Without any doubt, the Lord hath ordained human heirship; it is unlawful for you to make amends in the ordained by other willings. The child belongs to the one in whose marriage and owning is the child's mother.

For adulterers and fornicators is the punishment of death by stoning.

For the one who 'becomes' the son of another, besides his real father, and the one who enters the bondage of another, in denying his master, is cursed by God, His angels and all the people; his mandatory and voluntary prayers are rejected.{Reported by Ibn e Maaja un Umro bin Kharija.}

O ye group of Qureish, I hope it is not so that on the day of judgment you arrive carrying the world hung around your necks, while others arrive well prepared; for if such be the case, I will be unable to do anything for you before Allah. {Reported in Khutabaat e Muhammadi un Wara e bin Khalid bin Umro bin Aamir.}

Without doubt, alms in charity are unlawful unto me, and unto my household... not even as much as a pinch of hair from my camel's neck is allowed. {Scribes: AbdurRazzaq un Shehr bin Hosheb.}

A woman should not spend of her husband's wealth without his approval.

They asked, O prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon thee, not even of food?

He said, Yes! Food is the most precious of our worldly possessions, its protection is all the more important for our women.

Whatever you borrow, you must return. Return also the borrowed animal given you for your consumption of its milk. And return your loans. The guarantor is responsible for his guarantee. {Reported in Tirmizi un Abi Imam al Bahili.}

Know ye for certain I shall reach Kautsar before you do, and I shall be proud of your exceeding numbers over the number of the followings of all other prophets. Do not let me down.

For some, I will be able to bail out from the distresses of the fair judgment, and thus convey them hither, but some will be taken away from me.

I will beseech the Lord in supplications, and beg, 'My Creator, these Thou hath separated from me, are my companions in belief.'

The Lord shall Reply, 'Know ye not of the innovations, they introduced in the ordained belief?' {Reported by Ibne Maaja and Masnad, Ahmad un Abdallah bin Masood.}

Remember, the Lord hath clearly ordained your duties, and the way of the performance hath also been clearly demonstrated in the Sunnah. The limitations are now in force.

The lawful's lawfulness, and the forbidden's forbiddenness, hath been explained, and the way of life perfected.

The ordained way of life hath been perfected, as to make it easy for you to follow, it is flexible, it is accommodating, and it is cultivable.

Remember, the one who does not deliver the entrusted is a faithless person. One who cannot keep the covenant does not believe.

Anyone who transgresses the ordained responsibilities shall be questioned by the Lord about the transgressions.

And the one who breaks my trust, I shall fight him personally, and when I confront, I subdue. The breaker of my trust shall stand deprived of my intercession, and shall never reach the shores of the lake Kautsar. {Reported in Targheeb o Tarheeb un Ibn e Abbas.}

So whosoever be in possession of any trust is under the obligation of delivering it to the assigned. {Reported in Masnad Ahmad un Abi Hur Raqqashi.}

May the Lord be pleased with His servant, and grant him happiness and the peace of mind, one who hath heard me, and with full responsibility and care, conveyed it to the ones who have not heard me in person.

For among possessors of the science of jurisprudence there are many who have no understanding of jurisprudence, but they can convey the exact words to those who may understand better.

There are three things in a Muslim's heart, malice cannot alloy, these are; one, the engendering of sincerity in one's actions for God; two, counseling those in power about the ordained; and three, the invariable holding on to God's party.

Doubtlessly the people's prayers will be with the one who fears hereafter's reckoning; The Lord will sort out his worldly affairs and enrich his heart, and the world in need will come a-begging to him.

And the one before whom are the worldly gains, The Lord shall rent his affairs with confusion, and he shall see poverty in this worldly life, and he shall get from this world what hath been ordained for him. {Reported in Jamharata Khatab ul Arab, Masnad Ahmad, bi Sanad Muhammad bin Jabeer bin Matum un Abeh.}

Know ye, the performance of umrah is now the same as the hajj; this is something I have been made known just now; for had I known it earlier I would not have brought sacrificial animals with me, and thus if I were not under the obligation of sacrificing the animals I could have freed myself of the obligations of Ahraam.

Those of you who have not brought sacrificial animals can now replace the Ahraam with your daily wear.

Suraqa bin Malik asked the prophet, 'O prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be on you, is this 'leave' restricted to this hajj, or is it for all times?'

The prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, replied, 'No, it is not limited to this hajj, it is for all times.'

O ye people, Gabriel hath conveyed me the Lord's greetings, and 'conveys the Lord's forgiveness of the sins, and the guarantee of the resolution of their affairs involving interpersonal excesses, forgiving all those assembled at Arafat and Masjid-e-Haraam.

[Hearing this, Saiyidina Omar, son of Al Khattaab, may Allah be pleased with him, asked, 'O prophet of Allah, peace and blessing of Allah be on you, is this a distinction limited to this present assemblage?']

The prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, replied: 'This distinction is for you, and also for all those performing the hajj rituals until the day of resurrection. [Omar, may Allah be pleased with him, said, 'Our Lord's mercy and forgiveness is indeed great; abundant.'] {Reported in Targheeb o Tarheeb un Anas.}

The prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, then said, 'The Lord hath rewarded thee this day with great favors, and hath forgiven all your sins, but not the sins involving the infringements of common human rights... in the rights of one human being violated by another human.

The Lord, in responding to intercessions of His true followers, hath granted today what the followers had asked Him, and in it are forgiven the sins of gross evil doers.

[The prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, then asked the congregation, 'Let us now head for the next stage of hajj... Muzalfa.'] After they had reached Muzalfa, the prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: in continuing his

SERMON AT MUZDALIFA:

'The Lord hath blessed the good among you, and hath accepted their intercession. The Lord's mercy now blankets thee, His mercy envelops the earth, and each one who hath asked for the Lord's forgiveness stands forgiven... ones who protect their tongues and hands.

[Satan and his troops, watching these proceedings from o'er the mountains at Arafaat; beholding the granting of the Lord's favor and mercy upon the true believers, but when the mercy and favor were declared common, for all... Satan and his troops wailed in agony, as they thrashed their own heads with their hands, in the very sheerest of frustration.] {Reported in Khutabaat Muhammadi un Ibadah bin Samit.}

A Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe. And the Mukmin is one in whom is the safety of life and property of the people.

A Mohajjir is one who hath left behind his past errings and sins; and a Mujahid is one who fights the worldly desires for Allah's pleasure. {Reported in Al Wasaiq as Siyasia, un Fazal bin Obaid al Ansari.}

Remember, the nobles and vice-regents are to be from among the Quraish; Remember, once again, the nobles and my vice-regents are to be from among the Quraish. Provided they stick to three things; one, they are just in their commands; two, they honor commitments; and three, they are merciful towards those who seek mercy. {Reported in Khutabaat Muhammadi un Ali.}

And the nobles and vice-regents not following these stipulates are accursed, of Allah, and of His angels and the peoples.

O ye people, fear the retribution of God. And 'even if a Negro be made to manage your affairs; and though he might also be short of an ear, obey him, listen to his word, provided he orders according to the Book of Allah.' {Reported in Tirmizi, Masnad Ahmad un Ummul ul Khaseen al Ahamsia.}

The hajj is the hajj of Arafa, so the person who reaches Arafaat before the dawn prayers hath completed the hajj ritual. Three days are ordained for Mina, but for the one who hurries back from Mina after two days, or stays longer than three, there is no misconduct in it. {Reported in Masnad Ahmad, un AbdirRahman bin Ya'mr al Daily.}

Allah hath never designated a prophet who did not caution his followers about the evil manifest, Dajjal.

Noah, peace be upon him, cautioned his people, and after him the other prophets also cautioned, may the peace and blessings of the Lord be upon them all. They all cautioned their respective people about the Dajjal, telling all except what was hidden from them.

And that clear knowledge does not remain hidden from Muslims; know ye, Allah is not blind of one eye. {Reported in Masnad Ahmad, un Abdallah bin Umar.}

O ye people, acquire knowledge before it is seized; before it is lifted beyond acquisition.

The Lord calleth, O ye who believe, ask not about matters, if manifested unto thee, shall be unacceptable to you. But if you ask during the moments the Quran is being revealed, these could be manifested.

The going away of Ilm; organized knowledge, is in the going away of those who bear its weight. The going away of organized knowledge is in the going away of those who bear its weight. The going away of organized knowledge is in the going away of those who bear its weight. {Reported in Masnad Ahmad, un Abi Umama al Bahili.}

Know ye four things, :

  1. 'Do not associate anyone or anything as an equal or a partner of God;'
  2. 'Never kill any of the living unjustly;'
  3. 'Do not commit adultery;' and
  4. 'Do not commit theft.' {Reported in Masnad Ahmad un Salma bin Qais al Ashjae.}

O ye people, learn the performance of hajj ritual from me, for I may not be able to perform after this year. {Reported in Al Wasaiq al Siyasia, un Abdallaf bib Umr bin Al Aas.}

O ye people,

  • "There is to be no prophet after me, nor an Ummat after thee."
  • Worship thine Lord,
  • establish five prayers,
  • fast during the month of Ramadhan,
  • obey your authorities; and you will enter the Lord's paradise. {Reported in Al Wasaiq al Siyasia un Abi Qabeela.}

Take good care of those subordinated to you, and also those who are in your bondage, feed them of what you eat, and clothe them of what you wear. If they make mistakes and you are not inclined to forgive; then sell them off... but fearing God, do not physically punish them. {Reported in Khutabaat e Muhammadi un Zaid ibbne Haris.}

The prophet, peace and blessings of the Lord be upon him, said, 'For one to go forth in the way of the Lord in the evening is better than anything in the world, that one can do in the evenings; and to go forth in the way of the Lord in the mornings is better than anything in the world that you can do during the mornings.'

Without doubt, a believer's dignity, wealth and life are as sacred as this day is sacred. {Reported in Masnad Ahmad un Sufian bin Harb.}

O ye people, accept gifts and rewards as long as these remain gifts and rewards. But when Quraish start fighting for worldly possessions, and gifts become rewards in lieu of belief, then reject such gifts and rewards. {Reported by Abu Daud.}

Without doubt, Allah's friends are:

  • those who offer prayers;
  • offering the five mandatory prayers with regularity, and in search of the Lord's pleasure,
  • fast in the month of Ramadan, and
  • willingly pay the poor's share from their owned wealth, and
  • abstain from the major sins forbidden by the Lord.

[Someone from among the companions asked, 'O Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon you, how many are the major sins?'

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, replied:]

'The major sins are nine in numbers;

  1. to associate with Allah an equal or a partner;
  2. to unjustly kill a Mukmin;
  3. to flee the battle, in God's ordained warring;
  4. to slander a pious woman;
  5. necromancy and witchcraft;
  6. usurping what belongs to the Orphan;
  7. interest;
  8. disobeying one's Muslim parents; and
  9. showing disrespect to the Baitul Haraam @ Holy Ka'abah

[In life and in death, anyone abstaining from these major sins, and establishing prayers, and sharing at the determined rate with the poor of his owned wealth, shall enter a paradise, doors whereof shall be of gold, and he shall be a companion of the prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him].

O ye people, there is no goodness in racing your camels and horses; ride them at a moderate pace, and take care of the old and the weak, and do not trouble your Muslim brethren. {Reported in Khutabaat e Muhammadi.}

Doubtlessly, the ignorants used to return from Arafaat when the sun was about to set; as if the setting sun's rays falling on their faces were their glorious wrappings; and they would return from Muzalfa, when the sun had risen to a fair height, shedding light, liken to the setting sun's rays, and they thought as if the risen sun's rays were their shining turbans.

But we shall not return from Arafaat until after the sun hath set, and our returning from Muzalfa shall be before the dawn. For our ways are distinctly different from the ways of the idolators and polytheists. {Reported in Khutabaat e Muhammadi, un Muhammad bin Qais bin Mukhrama.}

Those of you who have no sacrificial animals and need to convert your hajj Ihraam to the Ihraam of Umra should do so now. But those bringing sacrificial animals should not do so. {Reported in Al- Bukhari, un Ayesha.}

**********************************************************************************

[The Prophecies of the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam]

O ye people, should I not tell you of the signs preceding the day of resurrection? [Salman, may the Lord be pleased with him, a companion, submitted, 'May my parents be also devoted to you; Yes, tell us, O prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be on you, about the signs of the nearing of the resurrection day.']

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said;

'Among the signs of the day will be the;

1.squandering away of prayers,

2. the peoples inclining towards physical pleasures, and

3. consideration of riches as the sign of human respectability.

Upon hearing this, Salman, may Allah be pleased with him, was much surprised, and asked, 'O prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be on thee, is it to be so?' The prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, replied, 'I swear upon Allah, yes, it will exactly be so.

For in the days near the day of resurrection;

4.the paying of the share of the poor at the determined rate from the rich's owned wealth will be considered a penalty.

5.And the spoils of war will be considered the personal wealth of the rulers.

6.Liars will be considered the truthful, and the truthful considered liars.

7. The usurpers will become the famous trustees.

8. And the Royabza will start advising people about how to conduct the affairs.'

[People asked, 'O Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be on you, what is Royabza?'

The prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, replied:] 'The Royabza are those whom we would avoid even talking to; giving opinions about people's affairs.

9.Nine-tenth of the truth shall stand denied.

10. Islam will be in the name only.

11. Quran will become a compendium of words, written in letters of the Arabic alphabet; and the book's words shall be gilded in gold.

12. The males of my Ummat will become obese, and

13. concubines shall become counsels.

14. Adolescent youths will preach from the pulpits.

15. And the important affairs will be in the hands of women.

16. In those times, mosques will be profusely decorated; like the convents and churches, and minarets will be erected.

17. And although there will be more numbers of the worshippers, but the hearts and the tongues and the thoughts of the worshippers will be elsewhere, not in the prayers.'

Salman, may Allah be pleased with him; was dumbfounded, and asked, 'O Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be on you, is it really going to be so?'

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, 'I swear by Allah in whose hand is life of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him... it will be thus, and exactly so.'

18. O Salman, in eyes of pretenders, the worth of a true believer will be less than of a girl born in bondage.

19. And the true believers will melt in frustration, just as salt melts in water.

20. The believers will be witness to the misdeeds of pretenders, but will have no authority to correct them.

21. Sodomy shall prevail as will lesbianism, young boys will be envied just as are the virgin maidens.

22. Then in such times, transgressors will proclaim being the Saviour,

23. though their ministers will be foul charactered,

24. and their trustees will usurp, abandoning prayers, they will pursue the worldly pleasures.

If you find such times, then offer the ordained prayers at ordained hours.

25. In such a time, people will come from both east and west, their bodies will be human, but their hearts will be satanic,

26. they will show no mercy to the child,

27. nor give respect to the elders.

Salman, in such times, although people will perform the rituals at Bait ul Haraam; but

28. kings will perform for their outings and pleasure.

29. The rich will perform for trading, and

30. the poor will perform for begging.

31. The reciters will perform for glory and gains.

Salman, may Allah be pleased with him; was dumbstruck, but managed to ask, 'O prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon thee, is it going to be so?'

The prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, replied, 'Yes, it will be so. I swear upon Allah, in whose hand is my life,

32. falsehood will prevail,

33. a comet will appear.

34. Women shall join ranks with men in businesses.

35. Markets will be in close proximity to one another.'

People asked, 'O Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be on you, what is meant by the close proximity of markets?' The prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, 'Goods will not be sold, there will be a little profitability in business.

O Salman, at such time

36. the Lord shall lower a wind bearing yellow colored snakes, these snakes will fall on the heads of leading clerics, for they knowingly did nothing to stop evil from spreading.

Salman, may Allah be pleased with him; asked, 'O prophet of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be on you, will it happen?'

The Prophet said, 'I swear upon Allah, who hath sent me bearing the truth; yes, in the days nearing resurrection, all of this will happen, exactly so.' {Reported in Khutabaat e Muhammadi, ba Rawayat Ibn e Marduya wa Imam Seyuti fi Dar ul Mansus.}.

That my dear brothers and sisters is the complete Final Sermon of the Blessed Messenger of Almighty Allah to us who are Muslims and as a Standing Order for us to live by in dealing with our fellow Muslims and with those who aren't?

As you can see, the Final Sermon is so detailed and crystal clear as to where we stand in living our life as those who worship none other than Almighty Allah?

It also foretells of the current state of events as far as the modern world is caught in [ a thousand four hundred and twenty nine years later] where many of the things that the Holy Prophet prophesied has come to be?

I have purposely numbered these prophecies so that we can refer to them one by one and discuss as to whether all these prophecies have come to pass and is prevalent here in Malaysia and the rest of the modern world?

Shall we start by prophecy # 1?

1.squandering away of prayers,

Squandering of prayers. We all know how in these modern times, a very large number of Malaysian Muslims do the very thing by being at let's say - football matches, concerts, etc. without a bother about the calling of the azan at for instance, the Asar, Maghrib and Isya' prayers.

Football matches and concerts usually start by 8.00pm. Soccer fans queueing up for tickets after travelling from nearby states usually have been on the road, full of enthusiasm to watch the match of the teams that they support.

How many of these soccer fans do you think will bother about praying maghrib or even 'Isya when they are at the stadiums?

Does this prophecy come to be realized?

Okay, I am not saying that the entire legion of Muslim soccer fans here and all around the world miss their solat's but let's be frank here and tell it as it is?

You and I know how things are at the stadiums so to me, this prophecy has come to be as far as the scenarios at such matches are to be considered?

Now, let's take a look at the way, Malaysia Boleh works as far as the endless concerts being held here in Bolehland is to be considered?

Akademi Fantasia for example. Fuyoo...same scenario as the football fans only that the crowd here is even more varied.

From small kids to the almost expiring grannies and grandpa's, all flock to the auditoriums or concert venues from as early as before Asar?

How many of such concertgoers do you think bother about catching up on their solats?

Not that many, huh?

Everyone's excited about watching the weekly concerts. The contestants are all prepped up, made to wear makeup, having their hairs done, etcetera.

Preparations usually start very early, don't they?

They surely won't be able to go perform their solats with their hairsprays, make up, eye shadow, blushed cheeks, etcetera for taking wudhu would surely wash away all that hard work, etcetera..so prophecy # 1 is here to stay, isn't it?

Okay, not wanting to be one who rubs it in, so I am going to mosey on to the other aspects of our average Malaysian Muslim's life in other areas.

How many of you have been to Pasar Malam's?

The setting up of the stalls etcetera usually commences from before or around Asar.

Usually, such Pasar Malam's are set up along the roads of our towns and cities.

How many of you have actually seen any of the Pasar Malam Muslim traders fulfill their religious obligations?

Not that many I suppose?

Anyway, it is up to the individual Muslim trader to settle his solats but to me, this prophecy # 1 does come to pass here?

What about office workers, CEO's, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, etc?

Sometimes, we know that such people are caught up in business meetings. running late for assignments, busy debating bills, etcetera into the deep of the night?

Does prophecy # 1 come to be relevant to such cases or scenarios?

That is just one particular prophecy of the Blessed Prophet that I think is just so very true nowadays?

I don't even want to go into the rest of the above prophecies. Will take just my whole day here.

You figure it out for yourselves and tell me as to whether what the Blessed Messenger of Allah the Almighty prophecied has not come to be?

To me as a Muslim, I dare say that each and every one of these prophecies are true, has come to be and are staring at us in our face!

So dear Muslims and Non Muslims, especially those of us here in Malaysia; can we afford to ignore what the Blessed Prophet has warned us about and just watch this nation go asunder by not speaking up and reminding our fellow citizens as not to screw up the trusts of the people and try to salvage what we have left and bring this country back on track?

The way things are going at the moment is just too damn scary to pretend that such racist bearings that some folks in power today are not going all out to create a flash point to spark off another bout of destruction and mayhem to our fellow citizens and this nation that we all call our motherland?

May Malaysians be protected from harm and dangers being posed by those who fail to heed these warnings of our Blessed Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam?

May Allah bless and guide us all.

Ameen.

**************************************************************

So my dear fellow Muslims,

Who do you follow? The Party President or Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam?

Who is more important to you?

Who will be your Saviour?

Tuan Presiden or Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam?

Think!

I am not asking you to be disrespectful to your beloved Chairman, President, Tuan Guru or whatever?

I am just REMINDING YOU that a true bonafide Muslim must never be a racist!

If you think that just because you are of a certain skin color and lineage, you are better than the one whom you despise based upon the difference of your present status in life and position in society, then you have just earned yourself, your deserved place in the Narr al Jahannam @ Hellfire!

Are you prepared to taste the Wrath of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala who created us all, in various tribes and ethnicities based upon your vain, egoistical pride?

A true Muslim or Muslimah who bows before Allah and prostrates to Him, placing our foreheads upon the ground, submitting our body and soul to The Almighty, in the truest sense of the word, have no right to be a racist!

All mankind is equal before Allah save for our Iman and our Amals.

Reflect on this and let's all sincerely repent for all that we have erred out of our ignorance and listening to those who are just devils in disguise, my dear brothers and sisters.

We deserve better than to be known as those who discriminate!

Lets practice Islam as we should and call all mankind to the Faith of Islam as we are commanded to by Ar Rahman Himself as per the Surah An Nahl, Chapter 16 Verse 125 in the Holy Qur'an :

125. OdAAu ila sabeeli rabbika bialhikmati waalmawAAithati alhasanati wajadilhum biallatee hiya ahsanu inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena

125. Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.

Surely, we can do that, can't we?

May Allah have mercy upon us and forgive us of our sins, from the moment that we were born here on Earth to the second that we breathe our last and final breath upon our Death.

Ameen Ya Rabbal Alameen.

Have a blessed Jumaat, dear brothers and sisters.

May your day be one of joy and peace.

Ameen.

Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah.

Kelau Dam & Pahang-Selangor Water Transfer Tunnel Stop Destructive Project Petition

This is a petition to stop the wanton destruction of precious flora and fauna at the proposed Kelau Dam Project which is endangering irreplaceable tropical plants, insects, wild animals and destroy the ancestral lands of our Orang Asli communities living there and deprive them from what they own and have been protecting since time immemorial.

I ask that the Minister in charge of this important heritage of our nation do what he can within his power and authority to cancel this destructive and unnecessary project.

I reproduce herewith the online petition by those of us who are concerned citizens and friends of the Orang Asli to make our objections known to this destructive initiative by those who are only interested in making themselves filthy rich at the cost of so many and those precious flora and fauna that can't speak for themselves!

*****************************************************************

To: Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications (MALAYSIA)

Minister
Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications
Block E4/5 Parcel E,
Federal Government Administrative Centre,
62668 Putrajaya Malaysia

YAB ,

Let's invest in more cost-efficient and sustainable sources of water supply for Selangor and the Klang Valley. Stop the wastage and stop the Kelau Dam & Pahang-Selangor Water Transfer Tunnel.

As members of the public, we the undersigned, together with the Centre for Orang Asli Concerns (COAC), Consumers Association of Penang (CAP), Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM), Save Our Sungei Selangor (SOS Selangor), and Treat Every Environment Special S/B (TrEES) have a number of shared concerns over the Kelau Dam and Pahang-Selangor Inter-State Raw Water Transfer project.

Based on research and reviews of the Detailed Environmental Impact Assessment Study Final Report: The Proposed Raw Water Transfer Project from Pahang D.M. to Selangor D.E. Malaysia (Vol 1: Part 1 and Part 2 and Supplementary Report), and other information related to the project, there are serious misgivings of the project from economic, water demand, environmental and social standpoints.

We would like to ask the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications and all other related government agencies, both federal and state, to invest in more cost-efficient, sustainable sources of water supply for Selangor, the Klang Valley, and other urban areas.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

This is what I signed:
Preserve and conserve the precious irreplaceable flora and fauna of our beloved nation. The Orang Asli and their lands must not be victimized by those whom the people have elected and trusted to take care of them and conserve their heritage. Fear Allah and stop this destructive project. May those responsible cancel this unnecessary wanton destruction of our life giving tropical forests and prove to us that those of you who are in temporal power and authority really deserve to be there? Thank you.

Lim Guan Eng's Press Statement emailed to me.

Assalamualaikum.

Dear brothers and sisters.

Within minutes of my publishing my queries as to where Penang's Pakatan Rakyat State Government stands with regard to the land conversion matters in Penang's foreshore reclamation projects, I received this document from Cheong Yin Fan, Lim Guan Eng's Press Secretary.

Impressive. Let's see if Guan Eng can really deliver to us a new Penang State Government that will reverse the rotting process of our beloved Penang Island's governance into a standard of living that can match or even outdo what Singapore has achieved under Lee Kuan Yew?

I will support Guan Eng wholeheartedly if he can do it!

Here is the press statement that Yin Fan has emailed to me.

Press Statement by Penang Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng

In Georgetown, Penang On 15.10.2008.

The New Penang State Government Has No Plans To Follow The Previous BN State Government's Policy Of Circumventing The National Land Code (NLC) By Converting All Reclaimed Land From Leasehold To Freehold Status.

The new Penang state government has no plans to follow the previous state government's policy of circumventing the NLC by converting all reclaimed land from leasehold to freehold status. Under Section 76 of the NLC a state authority cannot dispose of "any part of the foreshore or sea-bed for a period exceeding ninety-nine years." In other words the NLC expressly prohibits the state authority from converting foreshore land to freehold to protect and reserve coastal areas for public interest.

However I have been advised that after reclamation, there is no more seabed and foreshore, and therefore it is within the state's right to give private individuals freehold status for such areas. In other words, once a particular area is reclaimed, the foreshore and seabed cease to exist factually, physically and legally. The new government will not choose to exercise its powers to convert reclaimed land to freehold.

Whilst I disagree with the previous state government's arbitrary policy of converting reclaimed land to freehold, we have been advised by both the lawyers and consultants with the Penang Development Corporation(PDC) and the State Legal Advisor that :

  • this conversion is legally valid as it was gazetted as state land and no longer as foreshore land;
  • the state government has to comply with the consent order directed by the Penang High Court to give effect to a "scheme of arrangement" to rescue the Bayan Bay project with a package that included converting what was once seabed and foreshore into a reclaimed land that has been converted to freehold.
  • All the parties involved had exercised their legal rights fully in court before withdrawing its final appeal to the Federal Court; and
  • Any attempt to refuse to comply with the consent order by the courts would attract substantial damages to be paid by the state government.

The Penang state government hopes that the public including some ADUNs and NGOs would not equate the necessity to comply with the scheme of arrangement decided by the previous state government as concurrence or even endorsement to converting reclaimed land (that were previously foreshore or seabed) from leasehold to freehold land. Even though the official legal view is that whilst the state authority can exercise such powers, the new government would not exercise such powers.

Gerakan new President Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon is advised again to co-operate with the new state government to expose more land scams such as those done in on Bayan Bay Development project. and clarify or pour light in the one-sided agreements done to the detriment of the state and rendering the NLC a meaningless.

It is regrettable that despite the new government's repeated calls to promote CAT, the old state government has still refused to step forward and come clean on the land scams that have caused losses of hundreds of millions of ringgit.

In the presence of innocence - Introducing Baby Iezzatus Sofea

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Dear brothers and sisters.

In these times where our hearts and souls are often troubled by the way human beings are fast turning heartless and violent in their ways, it is not often that we get to enjoy a brief moment of peace and tranquility in the company of others?

So when such an opportunity presents itself, I am one who will practically grab the chance to be in that state of mind and bliss that comes when I am blessed to be with a charming little infant @ baby.

'Carpedium'!

Seize the day they say!

I got my moment of bliss the other day when I went to the home of Hajjah Zurina @ 'Mekna', one of my wife's colleagues invitation to her Aidilfitri event.

After the initial welcome and feasting of the delicacies and food served to us by the gracious host, I made my way to where I had seen a bouncing, pleasant mannered beautiful little baby.

Yes, the focus of my attention was none other than baby Iezzatus Sofea. A nice, well mannered, not bailing her heart out little baby!

Hehehehehe....

Alhamdulillah! I had a pleasant, memorable time with baby Sofea.

She was looking at me with curiosity for she must not have seen someone like me with a beard and all that? Her little powerful fingers practically grabbed my beard and explored my face!

Hahahahahaha!!! Babies are just that! Fearless!

Come enjoy my moments with Sofiah by watching this video and enjoy the visuals captured by my spouse who is actually a very good photographer as well.

This is baby Sofea wondering who this fellow is? Showering her with all my love and care just out of the blue? Hehehehehe.... Just watch her expressions. Priceless!

In this shot, she must be wondering how come this old man has a beard? Her dad is clean shaven. Hehehehe...

Sofea had just hurt her upper lip after accidentally falling on her face when being handled by her elder sister, the one in the video above. Thank God that no worse harm was done to the cute one. Alhamdulillah.

This is Sofea, the little angel. May she grow up well and safe. Ameen.

This is Sofea with her grandmother.

She's a sweetheart, isn't she?
She brings joy to everyone who is blessed to be in her company.

Let's all pray that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala protects her always.

Ameen Ya Rabbal Alameen.

Penang's disappearing foreshores - Is the PR Penang State Government any better than the BN?

I read with concern about the way things are being handled in Penang, my home state with regard to the matter of my home island's fast losing whatever is left of the foreshores which are quickly being transformed into reclaimed lands and their status changed from state land to private ownership with a freehold status!

You can read the disturbing report here in the Sun2Surf online newspaper.

Was I wrong in assuming that under the Pakatan Rakyat Penang State Government led by the 'Amal Makruf Nahi Mungkar' preaching Penang Chief Minister Saudara Lim Guan Eng (photo above), things would be different and my beloved home island be saved from mismanagement from the way that the Gerakan BN Penang State Government parasites ruined my home island?

I am referring to those of them who were masquerading as Penang's rulers back then and now seem to be replaced by the SOS (Same Old Shit) type of mindsets albeit preaching something honorable like the 'Amal Makruf Nahi Mungkar' slogan yet allowing further injustice to be perpetrated upon Penang's foreshores but with a new twist to the definitions of such land scams?

I don't know!

I am not a bloody politician to be twisting facts and coming up with new definitions to excuse a blatant plunder of whatever still remains for the ordinary Penangite to enjoy rightfully without having to pay an entrance fee to be at the foreshore of our island home state or be chased away by security guards employed by the now emerging private landowners of seafronts and beaches which used to be public areas?

What the hell is happening over there in Penang?

I know for sure that some stretches of public beaches have now been cordoned off by private land owners who erect barricades and fencing to keep out the ordinary Penangites who used to be able to enjoy the few remaining beach areas from Tanjong Tokong, Tanjong Bungah, Batu Ferringhi right up to Telok Bahang before.

No more access to the average citizen of Penang to the seafront and beaches that we have been enjoying as far back as we know?

Are there any more remaining foreshores that Penangites can have free access to? From what I see, not that many!

Is Lim Guan Eng no longer the 'practicing what he preaches Chief Minister' I thought him to be?

If not for the Sun2Surf newspaper report on this serious matter, I am sure most of us Penangites would be in the dark about this shady land conversion deals.

Thanks be to the Batu Uban Assemblyman S.Raveentharan for raising his objections to this land conversion of the Penang Island foreshores from being state land to private freehold ownership status!

Here is the excerpt from the Sun2Surf report quoting:

Lim was responding to a report in theSun on Oct 8 which pointed out that the NLC prevents the authorities from disposing of alienated coastal land as freehold. Section 76 of the code stipulates that a state authority cannot dispose of "any part of the foreshore or sea-bed for a period exceeding ninety-nine years."

The report followed questions raised about the conversion of the Queensbay land area, which is reclaimed land, to freehold.

"We are of the opinion that the conversion of the leasehold status of the reclaimed land to freehold was done in accordance with the NLC," said Lim.

"Since the foreshore and seabed ceased to be of existence upon reclamation of the land, there is no issue of the foreshore and sea bed being converted into freehold status."

However, Batu Uban assemblyman S. Raveentharan, a practising lawyer whose constituency is seeing reclamation, expressed concern what would happen if all coastlines in Penang were to be reclaimed and placed under private hands.

He said it was important for the state to clarify how it intended to protect the foreshores. "If all the land along our coast is taken away, what would happen to the foreshore in Penang island and the mainland?" he asked

Raveen asked if future generations of Penangites would be able to enjoy beachfronts if the coastal areas became locked by reclaimed lands under freehold tenures.

Other lawyers who were consulted expressed concern that the removal of foreshore status may be used as an excuse to circumvent the NLC’s intention to protect such lands in the first place.

"The purpose of the proviso is to protect the coastal land by keeping it in permanent public ownership through the state," one lawyer said.

"When a party gains freehold tenure of such land, it prevents the public and the state from having it back, except by paying for it at market price."

Click here to see what the Penang Development Corporation has in plan for the 'last remaining foreshore' there?

My question is ' Who stands to pocket the millions if not billions from this project?' The average Penangite or the ones in 'power'? I guess we all know the answer. Not the Penangite for sure!

Can anyone who has the facts to please update me and other Penangites currently living outside of Penang as to what is really happening there?

I am quite disappointed to learn of this fiasco.

Is it a case of the Same Old Shit screwed up governance reminiscent of what the previous BN state government did or is this the handiwork of the reform minded but yet to deliver as promised PR's agenda?

It makes me want to reconsider my support for the ones whom I voted for and blogged my heart out so that my home island gets better rulers this time around?

I sure like hell hope that it is not as I fear it to be?

Which is alike opening your doors to the bloody robbers when you feared your home to be burglarized by petty thieves?

Na'uzubillahiminzalik! ( May Allah Forbid such a thing! )

Ameen.

Jalan Dhoby JB - The hidden delights of an age gone by.

Assalamualaikum dear Brothers & Sisters,

As promised, I am sharing with you more photos that I took of the hidden old town enclave in bustling and busy Johor Bahru City or JB as it is affectionately called by its inhabitants.

I captured these scenes along Jalan Dhoby, Johor Bahru, along the same stretch with Salahuddin Bakery which I featured before this article here in my blog.

Narrow streets at JB Old Town

The following scene has many different perspectives to it. I just snapped this scene instantly without realizing what a poignant moment it has successfully captured!

A poignant moment captured

The sight of this old Indian man looking forlornly at the foreground, waiting patiently for customers. Sad but beautiful, won't you agree?

I am sure that his business will pick up once the Deepavali shoppers throng the area. Hopefully.

Update

Due to fulfilling a wish by one of my readers and a fellow blogger, Intan Suzana Ahmad of Eskapisminda, here is a B & W visual of the image above as she wanted?

Hope you are happy now Intan. :)

JB Tailors

I then came across this Pakistani male tailor, busy stitching his customers orders, probably trying to finish the orders of his Deepavali celebrating customers.

I took this picture of two busy tailors operating in another shop. I guess tailors get pretty busy come every festive day here in Malaysia. Business peaks during these times because those who can afford it surely will want to wear new clothes and look good during their respective big days? 'Mesti mau nampak lawa aa!'

Heritage Buildings in JB

This impressive looking building harks from a glorious era gone by. You don't get to see such buildings preserved that much nowadays. Greedy developers always smash and demolish such quaint artistically architectured masterpieces today.

Instead of such elegant buildings, they raise humongous skyscrapers made with cold steel and impersonal glass facaded structures, meant to make the most of space jutting upwards, void of any human creativity and creative impulses such as those shown here in the magnificence of the JB old town heritage. I do hope that this building is preserved for the sake of future generations. It will be a shame and huge loss to lose this classical heritage.

Petition Writers and Commissioners of Oaths
One thing I noticed around this area is a plethora of petition writers and commissioners of oaths.

Hehehehe...I guess with the current spate of Statutory Declarations and Statements being issued by concerned citizens, bloggers and whoever has a vested agenda in the turn of events especially those politically infused happenings affecting the ones in power and the obviously impatient hungry for power ones out there in the Pakatan Rakyat leadership, these commissioners of oaths would have been kept busy by those folks, day in, day out, eh?

JB's Commissioners of Oaths are ready at your service! :)
Got anything to swear by?

Hehehehehe...Saiful swore upon his arsehole that Anwar was the one who buggered him but that did nothing to stop the PKR Supremo and PM wannabe from winning the P44 Permatang Pauh Parliamentary By Election recently.

PI Bala swore that Najib had something to do with the Altantuya Shaariibuu case where Razak Baginda gave the order to C4 the Mongolian model cum translator but that sworn Statutory Declaration has not dislodged even a nostril hair from the designated Prime Minister so far and now Bala has become the missing PI.

All these turn of events must surely be keeping our nation's Commissioner of Oaths very happy. Come on everyone else, surely you must have something to swear? Hehehehe..

Daily swearings
I figure that millions of my fellow Malaysians swear like hell everytime they pass through the dysfunctional Malaysian Checkpoint at JB's Causeway everyday and night as they dodge the potholes on their way to seek their keep in Singapore. :)

The Malaysian Immigration, Customs and Police checkpoints are manned by ghosts who never seem to materialize when we Malaysians pass through but they will briefly show up the minute a Singapore registered car drives up. :P

So, I swear upon them for tarnishing our nation's image. @#$%^&!

Hehehehehe...........nang buti nang, kui buti kui...trang tang tang tang tang...cak pong!...

Major Reasons why Singaporeans come to JB?
Malaysia may never be as advanced and well kept as Singapore is today but it surely has enough attractions of its own to keep them Singaporeans swamping JB everyday.

The cheaper price of petrol here is a major attraction for them to wait in patience for the daily crawl through Woodlands Checkpoint and evade the nasty potholes at our JB Malaysian Checkpoints to save lots of their Singapore Dollars by filling up over here at the JB petrol pumps.

Petrol is sold at S$1.97 per litre over at Singapore which comes up to RM4.60 per litre in the island republic. Based on an exchange rate of RM2.34 to S$1.00.

Exchange Rates

Talking about the exchange rates. I strongly advise those of you who are Malaysians to change your Singapore Dollars at the Woodlands Town Centre in Singapore where the majority of the Singaporean Moneychangers offer much more better rates than the Malaysian ones at JB!

The average exchange rate they offer at JB is just RM2.34 for every Singapore Dollar there whilst the Singaporean Moneychangers at Woodlands Town Centre give you RM2.365 for every S$1.00!

That's it for now folks.

Catch you later with more updates of my recent travels down to JB and our short holiday in Singapore.

Have a blessed day!

Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Salahuddin Bakery - One of Johor Bahru's Old Town Attractions

Assalamualaikum dear Brothers & Sisters,

We have returned home here to KL this early morning. I have taken lots of pictures and videos of our recent trip down south to Singapore and our interim stay at Johor Bahru.

Apart from my initial frustrations of observing the lackadaisical attitude of our Malaysian Checkpoint officers @ all three = Immigration, Customs and Police for failing to do their jobs as expected, I managed to discover a hidden and I am sure overlooked part of Johor Bahru that was a delightful part of the obviously and extremely busy JB City, if you call it one?

I came upon the old shops along Jalan Dhoby when I went looking for the JB branch of my bank.

Parking was a real nightmare for the road was very narrow, many inconsiderate motorists just parked as they please and there was even a truck driver who just stopped his truck at the very junction of one of the streets, pulled up his handbrake and went off to deliver his goods to one of the shops without giving a damn about the people in the cars behind him, yours truly included.

I was seething mad and my darling had a hard time pacifying me! If I was a cartoon character, you'd have seen those clouds of steam blowing out of my nostrils and ears!

Hahahahaha! Coba'an!!!

Hehehehehehe....

Damn crazy!

These kind of crazy, idiotic Malaysian drivers can be so very bloody annoying!

I am no longer surprised to sometimes reading about such drivers getting whacked right there and then by those whom they inconvenience on our streets, roads and highways!

Those idiots do deserve getting their brains bashed out! Grrrrrr..........

Enough of that episode. Let's travel through time and marvel at this delightful old bakery still operating the traditional classic way.

Salahuddin Bakery. A traditional bakery that still operates using the ancient ways of charcoal and wood fuelled fire oven that bakes bread loaves the classic way.

Simply enchanting I must say! Looking at the traditional oven and smelling the aroma of freshly baked bread just makes one's taste buds go into full drive and makes us go hungry. Hehehehehehe...

It also made me remember the classical story of the baker and the poor man, where the baker was angry with the poor man who got to sniff and smell the delightful freshly baked bread for free but didn't buy any?

The baker filed a case against the poor man and in the ensuing trial, the wise judge imposed a punishment to teach the greedy and stingy baker by making him 'listen' to the sound of the gold coins tinging against the stone and cleverly settled the case.

The poor man got to continue sniffing the freshly baked bread and the greedy baker taught a lesson by a wise judge in return.

This is Rahim Khan, who seems to be the one in charge of Salahuddin Bakery and allowed me to take photos and shoot a video of the work going on there. Nice chap!

Another Pakistani guy preparing 'samosa's in the other compartment asked me to go shoot the video of him and his preparations and I obliged the brother.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive such an overwhelming warm reception from the bakers.

Even though we were strangers to each other, these chaps were very friendly I must say and their openness of their bakery operations augurs well for this classic bakery.

I am sure that if they keep up their attitude, they will be very successful in their business. Insya Allah.

All my best wishes to Rahim Khan and his associates in Salahuddin Bakery, No.26, Jalan Dhoby, JB.

By the way, each of their bread loaf sells for just RM1.50.

Is that a bargain or what?

Mahaguru58's 'Jalan Jalan' ke Singapura' Pt.1

Assalamualaikum dear brothers and sisters,

I am now on a short holiday trip down south in Singapore with my spouse in conjunction with my 50th birthday celebration.

Singapore has surely changed so much since I last worked here from 1980 to '86. I was with my youngest brother Nasirudin here in November last year when we came down to purchase his desired sport rims for his brand new Toyota Camry.

This trip around is more of a 'Jalan jalan cari makan' sort of a trip. Insya Allah, if Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala permits me, I'd be traveling to the holy lands with my spouse in the near future and then make sightseeing trips to the neighbouring Asean nations.

Here is a short movie compilation of video clips that I took of the Lau Pa Sat Satay Power night market at Boon Tat Link that I managed to snap last night. Great architecture and preservation efforts to keep the place looking spiffy as it was way back then but still equipped with modern amenities.

Lots of construction projects taking place around the area. Singapore is in a perpetual state of transformation, I must say. One thing though, the island republic is surely one dynamic place as far as the infrastructure development is concerned.

Let me start recollecting what I saw the moment we drove up to the Woodlands Checkpoint at the Johor Bahru Causeway.

This is the scene of cars queuing up to enter Singapore from the Johor Causeway.

One odd thing that struck me is the way our Immigration officers at the JB Immigration Checkpoint just waved us through without even taking a look at our passports!

What is the purpose of having them there then? 'Makan gaji buta?' Sheeesh!!!!

Another embarrassing thing is the poor state of the roads in that checkpoint. There are so many potholes there that will surely throw your car's alignment out of tune if you are so unfortunate to drive into them unsuspectingly?

Really something that our Malaysian authorities ought to rectify immediately. Why is this so?

It's like driving from a 3rd world country to a 1st world republic! Yet we have our bloody political leaders brag about 'Malaysia Boleh'? 'Boleh lingkop' if you ask me?

I am not saying that Singapore is free from faults or whatever but hello? We really need to buck up and rectify these situations.

Do we even have to wonder about why some folks in Singapore look down on us?

Even I am so bloody frustrated to see our lackadaisical non performing Malaysian Immigration, Customs and Police officers who are the best example of people who don't deserve to receive their monthly salaries and use it to feed themselves and their families!

I don't even want to start comparing the attitude and professionalism that the Singapore Immigration, Customs and Police at the Woodlands Checkpoint exhibit compared to our missing authorities at the JB side!

Really shameful I must say!

This has been the same from even before Merdeka! This 'tidak apa' mentality that the folks who are supposed to be manning our side of the checkpoints.

Sucks big time! Malaysia memang 'eksyen saja boleh!' How come no Malaysian leader has never done anything to change this embarrassing situation at the Johor Bahru checkpoint? Are they deaf, dumb and blind to the sorry state of affairs there?

Oh! I forget. Those idiots who call themselves as VVIP's must surely have been chauffeured in comfort through the express special lanes and wouldn't even have noticed the daily hassles that both Malaysians and Singaporeans go through at our so called checkpoints!

Another thing I don't understand is why the JB side has a 'toll' of RM2.90 to be paid by any motorist driving through the dirty, pot holed, chaotic roads at the checkpoint?

Not that I can't or won't pay such a toll but surely it is ridiculous to charge toll there for what is not even up to PLUS Highway standards or even local road standards in most parts of our country?

Stupid I must say whoever came up with this idea to charge toll for what must surely be a major disappointment as far as road management is concerned. More like a classic case of mismanagement of those who are supposed to be in charge there. JKR buta kah?

The difference of standards in law enforcement between Malaysia and Singapore is so obvious the minute you drive into the Singapore Woodlands Checkpoint.

Singapore has so many cameras and detection devices installed that scan our car number plates and flash them up on a big electronic board at the Customs area.

Young, alert officers come up and check our car boots whilst remaining professional in their duty whereas in the Johor side, no one even bothered to come take a look or even inspect our cars?

As my motto has always been, the Truth must be told no matter what so that Justice has a chance to live.

As far as I can see it, our Malaysian Checkpoint is surely the worst this side of the world! I don't give a shit to those who keep on pretending that all's well at our side. Face the facts.

JB Immigration Checkpoint sucks!

Gilaaaaaa!

More brickbats at our Malaysian side coming after this!

Penang Island - Scenes from my recent trip home.

Assalamualaikum dear brothers and sisters,

As you might know by now, I just returned from Penang after taking my herbal medications from Phang Oo Lang in Kepala Batas.

Having some time in my hand that evening, I crossed over to Penang Island from Butterworth and captured some scenes to share with you.

This is the new bus terminal at Butterworth for Rapid Penang buses.

The place was quite breezy due to its proximity to the sea. For now, all systems seem to be good.

The bus I took to Kepala Batas was U601 and the fare was RM2.00. The bus was airconditioned and generally still new. I hope that the management upkeeps the buses to the best standards possible. I also wish that the bus commuters will not litter the buses.

This is a short movie that I have put together from some videoclips that I have shot during my trip from Butterworth to Kepala Batas and then from the Butterworth Ferry Terminal to Penang Island.

I will add more pictures of my trip soon. The pictures were shot during the evening and night so please forgive the lack of clarity in some of them if not all.

Do you know the type of bread featured here?

This is what we call as 'Roti Benggali'. It is one of the many specialties of Penang Island, my birthplace. Roti Benggali is the product of Ismalia Bakery, located at Transfer Road. Best eaten when it is warm and with fish curry. The taste is simply superb and unforgettable.

During my trip back to Penang recently, I bought a whole loaf of the bread from a breadseller whom I chanced to meet at Queen Street. 10 bricks of Roti Benggali in one loaf. RM7.00 @ 70 sens per loaf.

Melaka Darul Datuk! What a bloody joke!

Hahahahahahaha!!! What a bloody joke this is!

Melaka! Melaka! What kind of a 'mala petaka' you have become?

From being renowned for its historical heritage and the birthplace of the Malay Malaccan Sultanate which was founded by the fleeing Sumatran Hindu prince Parameswara, Melaka today has turned into what is fast being proven true to be 'Melaka Darul Datuk'!

I have heard of this insulting reference to the state which once had Datuk Laksamana Hang Tuah and his warrior friends Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu as its honorable sons of its earth, honor of having been the first Malay Empire to rule over many South East Asian countries, first Muslim bastion here in Nusantara, Melaka is now getting famous for the wrong reasons. Infamous to be exact.

Not so long ago we had the pig farm problems stinking up the whole place.

Now we have another stinking scandal breaking out with this conferment of a 'Datukship' to a Bollywood actor, Shah Rukh Khan for .....(hahahahahahahahahaha....listen to this reason for his being awarded the Datukship)...."Setiausaha Politik kepada Ketua Menteri Melaka, Saadun Basiron berkata, Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka dianugerahkan bagi mengenang jasa Shah Rukh Khan dalam bidang seni dan perfileman di peringkat antarabangsa, termasuk di Malaysia."

To add insult to injury, the Bollywood actor can't turn up to accept his 'Datukship'! What does that tell us?

Shah Rukh Khan doesn't regard this 'Datukship' that important to merit him making time to go to Melaka and accept it from the Malaccan Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd. Khalil Yaakob?

Maybe they will 'Poslaju' the award to the fellow?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

What bloody contributions has this Bollywood actor contributed for the state of Melaka if not the whole going crazy nation?

It is for these kind of stupid, idiotic actions by those who have no merit or right to rule over the place in the first place, that makes me yearn for Melaka, Pulau Pinang and Seberang Perai to be returned to its respective Malay Sultans or heirs apparent and this British Colonial legacy of Governorship in those two states be abolished!!!

I wonder if what they say about Melaka to be true?

They said that if you were to throw a stone at any crowd in Melaka, you might hit a 'Datuk'!

Hehehehehehehe!

Stupid! Stupid as stupid can be!

There goes the respect for any bloody Datuk in Bolehland!

There's just no merit having such titles anymore. What a bloody joke a Datukship has now descended to?

Ala la la la la la tuk! Har! Har! Har! Har!..(patented laugh by 'Datuk' M.Rajoli)....hihihihihi...

'Segenggam Iman dan Secebis Akidah' oleh Zainol Abideen

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Astaghfirullah hal azhim!!! Hai lah manusia ...manusia!

Mengapa singkat betul fikiran mereka kini?

Hmmmm...memang rumit nanti jika kita hendak begitu teliti sekali.

' Err..encik! Maaf kerna mengganggu. Pagi tadi encik solat subuh ke tidak? Err..please excuse me. Did you pray subuh this morning?'

Insya Allah.

Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah.

Kencing Manis - Masih ada harapan sembuh di Phang Oo Lang.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Hehehehe...bukan apa ...teringin.....:P

Maka setelah makan sedap sedap, hah..inilah dia tengah mengidap....:D

Apa apa pun, Tuan Tabib Phang Oo Lang telah memberikan saya bekalan ubat baru untuk mengawal kadar darah tinggi dan kolesterol saya. Alhamdulillah!

Seperti biasa bekalan ubat saya sekarang untuk 3 bulan sekali. Syukur Alhamdulillah.

Almaklum sajalah bukannya dekat nak ulang alik ke Kepala Batas dan Kuala Lumpur setiap bulan. Makan belanja juga tu! Maka, moleklah ambil bekalan ubat untuk tempoh 3 bulan sekali.

Syaratnya saya ni, nak kena kawal sedikit makan minum tu. Nak kena berpantang lah kalau nak sihat. Insya Allah, akan saya jaga makan minum saya.

Maka itulah sebabnya saya tak sempatlah nak menulis dan menerbitkan apa apa artikel sejak dua tiga hari ini.

Tengah uruskan keperluan perubatan diri sendiri. Do'akan lah saya, Insya Allah.

Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah.

Mufti Perlis Sahibus Samahah Dr.Mohd.Asri harus terus berkhidmat untuk Ummah!

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Alang alang menyeluk pekasam; biar sampai kepangkal lengan tuan!

Tuan Mufti Negeri Perlis,

Apa gunanya berjuang menegakkan Islam jika hanya separuh jalan sahaja?

Jangan kecewakan kami!

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Heartening to know that Gain Peace.com, an American Islamic Group has taken the initiative to place ISLAM ads on buses plying the general bus routes in the Windy City @ Chicago.

Congratulations brothers and sisters of Gain Peace.com.

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala bless you all.

Ameen.

This is what they have published :

Next Stop…Islam! Chicago Buses to Carry Ads about Islam

GainPeace, an outreach project of ICNA Chicago, is launching the Bus Ad Campaign: The purpose is to educate fellow Chicagoans about Islam and Muslims.

Chicago, IL, September 5, 2008: GainPeace, an outreach project of Islamic Circle of North America is launching a bold venture in its public awareness campaign by placing ads about Islam on the city of Chicago buses.

Starting on September 8th 2008, for four weeks, several buses in Chicago will start carrying messages on the religion of Islam.

Each ad will invite interested individuals to call GainPeace’s toll free number 1-800-662-ISLAM and converse live with a Muslim, ask questions about Islam, request a free copy of the Quran and Islamic literature.

Their website, www.GainPeace.com, displayed on the ad will provide more detailed information on Islam.

Similar projects on sub-ways (YouDeserveToKnow, a project of WhyIslam) and buses in other major cities in United States have generated coverage by major media outlets and curiosity from the general public.

Dr. Sabeel Ahmed, Director of GainPeace, comments: “Islam is often a misunderstood religion, leading some to hold bias view of Islam with discrimination and suspicion of Muslims. This ad campaign will provide an opportunity for the people of Chicago to take a fresh and positive look at Islam through simple messages displayed on buses.”

Past media campaigns of GainPeace included ads about Islam on Chicago highway billboards, radio station and Taste of Chicago.

There are 1.5 Billion Muslims around the world and 8 million in United States. Muslims believe in Prophet Muhammad as the Last Messenger from God. Islam is the fastest growing faith in United States with 45,000 new converts to Islam each year, mostly women.

Hindraf mendapat lampu hijau dari Presiden PAS! Wow!

`Senyum sokmo!' kata orang Ganu!

Sungguh hebat sekali percaturan politik Presiden PAS sekarang yang memang seratus peratus menjulang tinggi siasah ala ala Machiavelli @'matlamat menghalalkan cara!'

Kan? Kan? Kan? Kan? Kan?

Iyolah tu!!!!

*

Terimakasih.

Dying out of ignorance - The Plight of Current Day Muslims in Name Only.

Why is it that in these days of the internet there are still some amongst the so called Muslim who willingly fall prey to con men and charlatans disguised as 'Faith healers' and 'alims' whose actions are just that of 'zalims'; devoid of any sense of compassion and only interested to either make a fast buck out of the ignorance of such folks or take advantage over their women and themselves?

Why is it that despite the abundance of information flooding our lives, there are still 'Muslims in Name Only' dying for the wrong reasons?

How come these tragedies continue to take place in the lives of so many who claim to be Muslims even though the universities and colleges of this country churn out so many learned scholars, each bristling with scrolls and degrees stashed in almost every orifice of their pretentious stuck up selfs?

Damned be all those who label themselves as 'ulamaks' and boast of their religious understandings and immense knowledge when they have failed!!!

They have so failed to go into our society and raise the awareness amongst the ignorant ones in the Muslim community as to what our faith of Islam really is and what it is not!

The blood of those who died at the Sri Sarawak Flats off Jalan San Peng, here in Kuala Lumpur is on the hands of each Muslim scholar and religious authority who have neglected them in their times of need!

I blame all those who have and hold power over the life's of each and every Muslim, male and female, young and old, in this country to be held responsible over their deaths!

I say that those who lay claim to be the Keepers of the Faith of Islam in this country are to be equally held responsible over these unfortunate deaths.

Narrated Ma`qil bin Yasar Radhiallahu Anhu :
"Any man whom Allah has given authority of ruling some people and he does not look after them in an honest manner, will never have even the smell of Paradise."
Chapter 3. Book of Al Ahkam (Judgements). Hadith # 2201. Page 1024. Sahih Al Bukhari.

Ma`qil bin Yasar Radhiallahu Anhu also narrated that Allah's Messenger Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam also said : "If any ruler having the authority to rule Muslim subjects dies while he is deceiving them, Allah will forbid Paradise for him."
Chapter 3. Book of Al Ahkam (Judgements). Hadith # 2202. Page 1025. Sahih Al Bukhari.

Is there anything in the above authentic hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam that all those people whom are being addressed by Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam do not understand?

What other calamity should befall the Muslims before any of these irresponsible people in authority start taking action to stop the rot in our going crazy society?

Dear brothers and sisters,

Apathy by those in power over the fate of the Muslims of today will only cause many more folks who are clueless about the do's and don'ts in our faith fall prey to more and more devious devils in disguise amongst us.

Can we still afford to just mind our own business and let our fellow Muslims be amongst those who shall be considered as the 'Modern Day Jahilliyyahs'?

Many tribes and people have perished before us and so will we!

Now, how would we like to be remembered, eh?

Would we like to be remembered as those who idly stood by and let our fellow Muslims die in vain out of our fear of attracting the wrong kind of attention from the unscrupulous ones in authority or will we step up to the Standing Order of Almighty Allah Azza Wa Jalla that is revealed in the Surah An Nahl Verse 125 Chapter 16 in the Holy Al Qur'an Al Kareem :

How many of us may I ask have really given any serious consideration to these Words of Almighty Allah that has been revealed for all mankind to adhere to and submit to with all their life and soul?

Can we afford to be deaf, dumb and blind to the silent cries of those who are yearning for knowledge and salvation both for themselves and their beloved ones?

Tell me!

How many more must die before anyone in power and authority stand up and take corrective action to stop these senseless murders?

May Allah have mercy upon us for our lack of courage or initiative to stir those amongst us who have it in them to do what's right and stop what's wrong?

PS:

I ask that those who aren't Muslims to please not comment on this subject as I am addressing my fellow Muslims especially those who are holding authority over us in this matter.

I thank you for your kind compliance with this simple and clear request.

Rural Delights Part 1 - Experiences that you don't get in the big cities.

The recent trip to my wife's hometown at Kuantan sort of gave me a refreshing opportunity to take part in events that are only best experienced in the rural areas.

My missus's kampong located in Kuantan sort of gave me a golden opportunity to record these sights and visuals that are a delight to this city dweller.

Its good to know that one can still get to live it up in the kampong, pluck fresh rambutans off its branches, savour fresh 'jambu air' as much as one pleases and still get to consume fresh fruits without worrying as to whether such fruits are safe to eat?

This here is a pomegranate @ 'buah delima' ripening on its stalk. If such a fruit was to be at the city, one can just forget about it! It will be gone before you can say'voila'! Hehehehe...

This is a shot I took of fresh 'jambu air' growing undisturbed just in front of my in laws place there in the kampong.

The abundance of such fruits in the kampong results in many of those fruits just drop off the trees and rot away enriching the fertile grounds of the village.

Natural enrichment of the grounds which in turn allow the fruit trees and other vegetation grow well, free from chemicals, healthy and productive.

I got to shoot a video of my brother in law prepare the bamboo casings which he lined up with fresh banana leaves to prepare for filling up with glutinous rice and freshly squeezed coconut milk, to be baked before the glowing embers of burning wood.

This is Bashir, one of my brother in laws, preparing the bamboo containers which after being cleaned thoroughly with water, is then lined with freshly taken and cleaned banana leaves to be filled up with the washed and toast dried glutinous rice and filled up with freshly squeezed coconut milk.

The prepared 'lemang' bamboo containers will then be lined up and baked by revolving the filled up bamboo containers to cook the 'lemang' with the heat emanating from the scorching embers of glowing wood fire.

This is Arbi, Bashir's Indonesian assistant preparing the bamboo containers for filling up with the lemang ingredients by washing the internal areas of the bamboo thoroughly to prepare for the filling up with the banana leaves and then the glutinous rice and coconut milk by Bashir.

Arbi then prepared the ground for the wood fire and framework for baking the 'lemang'.

This is a video I shot of the preparation. Thanks to Arbi, our spirited 'workhorse'.

This is Arbi, preparing the 'lemang grilling area' with burning embers.

More after this. Insya Allah.

Beware of this Conwoman! Spread the word!

Dear fellow Malaysians,

I came across this disturbing news of a conwoman who is going around fleecing desperate loan seekers of their hard earned money using the age old trick of 'knowing certain people' and 'able to settle all the necessary loan processing' needed to get them what they need?

This alert comes from:

A Miss Susheela who has been conned of her money by this fraudster posted this alert to the Yahoo Group to alert the general Malaysian public so as not to fall victim to the conniving lady called Sham.

I have Susheela's permission to publish this alert here in my blog. This is the alert that Susheela posted about the conwoman who is still at large.

Read and be warned.

BEWARE OF THIS CON WOMAN!!!

Posted by: "Suseela" suseeni@yahoo.com   Fri Oct 3, 2008 10:37 pm (PDT)

Good day everyone.

I would like to warn everyone out there about this lady who goes around claiming to have contacts with people who can get anything done for those who are blacklisted or not able to get a loan from banks.

I approached her because I was not able to secure a housing loan due to the simple reason that I needed a co-borrower as my income was insufficient.

This ladies's name is Sham (0163851244) who was introduced to me by my long time friend Mala (0173174850) who assured me that Sham is a very genuine person and can be trusted.

Sham is a stout, short lady who is rather manly in her demeanour.

Sham took me to CTOS to check for my financial status and said I have to pay RM250.00 cash and RM30 Digi reload card to get a clarification which will show that I am not blacklisted in any way.

After that we went to Bank Negara to get the CCRIS details of my existing loans.

However, along the way to these two places she was going on and on about how my financial status does not matter as she has a friend Ravi who is able to prepare any sort of documents required in the application of the loan.

All he requires is my IC. He can even prepare an appointment letter and salary vouchers which will elevate my financial status.

I was quite sceptical about her as she was bragging and bragging about all that she can do and all the people she knows, but because my long time friend Mala assured me that she is genuine and being a Hare Krishna devotee she won't cheat anyone, I trusted her.

That was the last I saw Sham. After our visits to CTOS and Bank Negara and taking RM250 cash and RM30 Digi top-up from me, I never saw her again.

She is not answering my calls or SMS's and so I called my friend Mala and asked her what happened?

Apparently, they have seen the guy Ravi and he has asked me to be patient and he will look into my loan application.

But it is me who has to continuously call her to find out what's happening. Sham is missing and Mala does not call me about this at all.

Obviously there is no such person called Ravi. These ladies are probably just satisfied with taking RM250. Imagine RM250 a day is a lot of money. There are prying on people who are desperate.

I blame no one but myself. As long as there are people like me who, inspite of life's incessant lessons, continue to trust so easily, there will be cheats like Sham.

Please people be aware. Don't get cheated like me!!

Sincerely
Suseela.

This is just one out of many hundreds of thousands of fraud being committed by sweet talkers who come in various characteristics and guises.

Each of us might have fallen victim to such fraudsters in our life and still get duped every now and then by these conmen and women who always keep devising new ways and methods in pulling a fast one on us.

No matter how many times we have been conned, taken for a ride and fleeced out of our hard earned money, thinking that since we have been exposed to these scams and fly by night operations, we should know better, we still get hoodwinked by the devious ones out there who love to cheat us of our money or whatever?

I think that it is important to spread the word about such conmen and women so as to aleret others so that they will be more aware of such cheats!

Do alert your friends and families about this conwoman who is going around cheating poor folks out of their precious money, no matter how trivial it might seem to those who are flushed with cash?

A good deed like alerting others about this scamster will surely go a long way to help others know about this person and her chosen modus operandi!

Spread the word and help the police to nab this conwoman!

Materialisma mencengkam kehidupan mereka. Saban waktu mereka memikirkan duit, duit, duit!

Wang dan harta menjadi matlamat hidup. Bukan lagi kasih sayang alami.

Nak bawa kemana nanti harta benda tu semua?

Entahlah manusia!

Dunia...dunia...
