Well, what can we say except that this nation's political scene has just descended into the danger zone!
If George Bush Jr was still in office, the red alert may have long gone off due to the ominous message that someone out there had sent to the nation's most in the news Punjabi lawyer!
No prizes for guessing! It's none other than the DAP Chairman himself!
This is no joke! 2 live bullets in a brown paper envelope addressed to he who wanted to sue a Malay Sultan?
History records that the Malays once venerated their Sultans to such a degree that whomsoever was even to utter anything considered offensive to a royal wouldn't live to see the next sunrise!
Well, that was before. In the heydays of a time when the Sultans commanded almost the entire peninsular and had it their way until the advent of the Portuguese fleet who invaded and destroyed the Malaccan Empire in 1511.
Today, the Sultans have been reduced to being constitutional monarchs and the citizens of this country have now grown so enamored with their new found freedom to express themselves via the internet and also through racial politics that people like Karpal Singh a/l Ram Singh have no hesitations in taking legal action against a sovereign Malay Sultan such as DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Sultan Azlan Muhibbudin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Yusuff Izzudin Shah Ghafarallahu lahu for His Majesty's sacking of the Pakatan Rakyat Perak Government!
So, I'm not surprised to hear of this death threat against Karpal Singh. I guess it goes with the territory. A commoner having the guts to go after the Sultan. That surely has its implications.
We may not be a gun toting nation such as the United States of America where its citizens are allowed to bear arms and even weapons such as the latest high powered super machine guns as what I came to discover recently online.
Malaysians are forbidden to possess even bullets so this death threat is not something to be dismissed off easily.
Karpal clearly knows the consequences of his actions and decisions for he has been in the legal scene for quite some time.
The Malays have a saying,' Kalau takut dilambong ombak; jangan berumah ditepian pantai!'.
It means that if one is afraid of being swept away by the waves to not make one's home by the beach!
The DAP Chairman is not a chambering student to not know the implications and consequences of his actions lately which challenges the sovereignty of one of Malaysia's most respected Malay Sultans?
He is right to ask for police protection round the clock for himself and his family.
In these tumultuos times, such a death threat ought not be dismissed easily.
Ahh...another Malay proverb to complete this posting...with a little innovation...
Kerana pulut santan binasa ; kerana mulut jiwa tersiksa....
In P.Ramlee's times, they used to just fight raw with their hands like in this clip here but nowadays, when one pisses the Malays off, they send you live bullets so it's no joke anymore..
