Hardcore poor Malaysians. Homeless? Blame the government? Check this out!

Image hosting by IMGBoot.com

Dear fellow Malaysians.

I came across this report by a fellow blogger here, laying the blame on an old man's poverty on the latest 1Malaysia PM for not doing enough to alleviate this hardcore poor man's situation in Najib's own Pekan constituency!

That made me do a check on the situation and I remember coming across some Sea gypsies living there in Tanjong Agas, in Najib's Pekan constituency as well.

The thing is, if we are to be fair in making any such assumptions or judgments against these folks in power, we need to imagine ourselves being in their shoes?

Would we be able to satisfy every Ahmad, Ah Seng and Samy out there?

Let's be real honest to ourselves.

Would we be able to transform the poor who chose to be so usually out of their own choice into overnight successes just by giving them a brand new home and all its amenities without considering as to their own willpower or rather obvious lack of it to improve their lot?

Be honest!

If we are to be true to our calling and choose to be faultfinders, well lets make sure that we view these cases with an unbiased outlook and treat the matter fair and square.

Do we not have Kelantan under the Opposition PAS State Government since 1990?

Do you seriously think that there are no hardcore poor suffering like hell over there?

Or what about Penang, my home state?

You think that there are no hardcore poor over there in 'Pearl Island'?

Let's move on and skim over the entire nation.

Does anyone here have the guts to claim that there are no hardcore poor elsewhere?

Hell! I can guarantee you that you will find such kind all over Malaysia and in fact throughout this whole wide world!!!

I can't accept all these accusations that this government or that government has not done enough to change the lot of the poor and homeless when we have millions of foreigners swarming in to our country , work their butt off and make a good income that they can afford to send money back home to Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, China, and the rest of the whole world!!!

Let's be fair and call a spade just that!

Most of the poor and homeless in Malaysia are so because of their own choice. Yes! Let's not dilly dally about this situation.

You think the beggars are poor?

Hello!!!

Wakey wakey Mr. Alex!!!

The authorities have at times and times again come across some 'poor beggars' with wads of cash in their bags amounting to tens of thousands of ringgits which they made from panhandling.

Yet these 'hardcore poor' choose to live on the streets and under bridges, in makeshift huts, sleep on the benches at Puduraya, all feigning a state of homelessness out of their own free will!

Yes, there are some genuine cases of the downtrodden and sickly forced to live such a life because of their illness or what but most other folks who do choose to live in rundown shacks and broken down homes or huts as depicted in the report by the blogger made their own choice to suffer so!

What do we expect?

To be spoon fed by the government or any other Ahmad, Ah Seng or Samy from birth till we kick the bucket?

Be wise for once and stop looking for faults in the beleaguered leaders we have in our country.

Even the richest nations on Earth like the United States of America with a population of about 305 million people, has about 31 million of them living in abject hardcore poverty and over 2 million of them being homeless on its major city streets.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala commands us to change our own fate in Surah Ar Ra'ad Chapter 13 Verse 11 in the Holy Quran :

11. Lahu muAAaqqibatun min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi yahfathoonahu min amri Allahi inna Allaha la yughayyiru ma biqawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bi-anfusihim wa-itha arada Allahu biqawmin soo-an fala maradda lahu wama lahum min doonihi min walin

11. For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah. Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own souls). But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.

So, do we still want to play the blame game?

Do we still have to find fault with Najib, Nik Aziz, Guan Eng, etc for the choice of some folks who choose to remain poor and homeless here in Malaysia?

Go figure!
