I have just got the clarification from a lawyer friend of mine that His Royal Highness Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku Al Sultan Ismail Petra ibni Almarhum Al Sultan Yahya Petra has officially stripped the Regent of the Sultanate of Kelantan of his powers as the Acting Ruler of Kelantan with effect from today.
There are conflicting news report such as the Star Online publishing otherwise here. According to the report by the same newspaper here, the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore doctors confirmed that His Royal Highness is capable of making independent decisions and fit to rule over the State of Kelantan.
It's getting to be very much a royal rumble as I see it where the Sultan is being forced to make His Royal Self to be seen as being the rightful ruler and highest authority now that His Royal Highness has returned to his Sultanate and calls the shots as he royally pleases?
I can sense that the young Regent of Kelantan is so very eager to assume the throne once and for all but isn't it a time honored Malay custom to wait till the Sultan passes away before one does that?
Even the late Sultan of Johor was revered and honored to His Royal Highness's last and final breath before the then Regent of Johor now crowned as Sultan Ibrahim Ismail Ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Iskandar Al-Haj assumed the Sultanate of Johor Darul Takzim as his own.
What is going to happen next in the state which has seen so much royal ramblings take place there recently?
Who in actuality rules there?
