The first two deputies of Mahathir didn't take to the streets to vent their frustrations of being robbed of their chances to be the nation's next premier after Dr.M.
They went about their ways and one of them, Tun Ghafar Baba passed away a broken hearted man after having diligently served his party UMNO and the Malaysian Government for so many years.
Allahyarham Tun Ghafar Baba was a man not known to go against the grain and he abided by the dictates of his superior without any dissension. He came from an era where the rule of law prevailed and not that many scandals came to light unlike the trend to become 'Judas Iscariots' nowadays!
Musa Hitam was also not known to stab Mahathir in his back. The closest someone came to wrest the PM's seat from Tun Dr.M was the Kelantan prince Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah in 1987.
Tan Sri Musa Hitam
Tengku Razaleigh had lost to Mahathir by just 43 votes in the UMNO party elections. Musa Hitam and Abdullah Badawi had supported Tengku Razaleigh in his bid to challenge Mahathir for the party presidency and consequently for the PM's seat.
To this date Mahathir hasn't been too chummy with the Team 'B' leaders.
Come Anwar Ibrahim, the then student leader whom Mahathir had groomed to be his protege and designated successor, the nation witnessed sort of a 'Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde' syndrome take root in the person of Anwar Ibrahim when he started getting too big for his breeches and the air was thick with his plans to derail Malaysia's then longest ruling Prime Minister.
Anwar Ibrahim was unceremoniously sacked in 1998 from being the Deputy Prime Minister and stripped from all his government official positions after found guilty by the courts for corruption and abuse of his office.
He was sentenced to serve 6 years in prison starting from 1999. In the year 2000, he was further sentenced to 9 more years in jail after being accused of having sodomized his personal driver and found guilty as well.
In 2004, the Federal Court reversed the decision for the 2nd charge and released him from prison.
After being released from prison, the vengeful Anwar started his campaign of toppling the ruling BN Federal Government and to this day, remains a thorn in the Malaysian Federal Government's side, campaigning unrelentingly to be the Malaysian PM if it is the last ever thing he does?
Malaysians are now divided between wanting to see changes in the country but not willing to trust those in Anwar's led Malaysian Opposition for fear of seeing another set of crooks come in to replace those who aren't squeaky clean so to speak?
The way things have been taking place in this country doesn't promise those of us peace loving citizens a restful future.
Instigators from the DAP-PKR and PAS Opposition parties have and are riling up impressionable young rebels from amongst the Malaysian university and college students to try and topple the ruling BN Malaysian Federal government by way of street protests ala the Middle Eastern countries such as Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, etc.
The main obstacles that these rebels face are the couldn't care less attitude of the general Malaysian public who would not take their dangled 'freedom of this and that' bait and usually such street protests would fizzle out at the very first few blasts of the Federal Reserve Units of the Royal Malaysian Police force's water cannons and swingings of their truncheons!
Most Malaysians would not be bothered to become sacrificial lambs for those who are just out to enrich themselves and feather their own personal nests in the guise of fighting for freedom, bla bla bla.
The ones that do so are usually made up of those who would be 'clueless' and don't really understand what the hell such protests are really all about in the first place?
The devilish ones calling the shots and organizing these illegal protests are usually the ones who would stand to gain when and if they really get to seize power through such irresponsible means?
The 13th GE is just around the corner but for those recalcitrants who would rather take to the streets and cause general mayhem, they just can't wait to taste power?
That is if the majority of peace loving Malaysians are so gullible and willing to stake their future on those who'd waste no time to run riot and cause irreparable damage to our nation's economy and image before the whole wide world?
All I wish for is for sanity to return to these rioting recalcitrants to stop for a while and look back at what is the result of all their disturbing of the peace and harmony of this nation?
You're not happy with the BN? No worries. Just exercise your choice and freedom to vote for whoever you want as your future leaders in the next GE!
Whoever comes into power gets to rule over us. Fair and clean.
|Kelantan MB Dato Nik Aziz|
We all are living between the 5 daily prayers and will die at any given moment by the Will of Allah.
True Muslims won't waste their time wreaking havoc in the lives of millions of peace loving fellow citizens if they really come to think of all the consequences of running this country down because of their greed and lust for temporal power here on Earth.
Think before you screw up not only your own lives but of those who are your own loved ones and fellow citizens of the Kingdoms of Malaysia.
We are the only nation on Earth with so many Kings! 9 Malay Sultans to be exact and 4 pseudo ones who get to play Governor @ Yang Di Pertua Negeri every 4 to 5 years once at whoever is the ruling Supreme King's pleasure!
Another thing peculiar to Malaysia.
Now, everyone can be a 'Datuk'!
All you have to do is be able to sing song and act. You don't have to be an academy award winning superstar, either.
Just enjoy yourselves gallivanting on stage and national tv, whilst making big bucks and voila! You might just get selected to present yourself at any of those royal palaces and be honored with such a title! :)
People are calling for one such undeserving title to be revoked on account that the holder is the Chief Recalcitrant Rebel who's rumored to be wanting to be Malaysia's first ever President if it ever decides to anoint the Recalcitrant One as its Supremo Uno Leader?
May Allah Forbid!
At this moment, I'm just bewildered as to what stunt the rebels are gonna pull next?
Sleeping on the road has been achieved in Kuala Kangsar.
Guitars are being strummed before the mimbars of our nation's masjids and rocker ustaz's are coming to the fore screaming their lungs out in the masjid's prayer halls under the label of new ways to reform those who'd once been the hardcore entertainers of this Bolehland and are now wishing to repent?
I'm just ready for anything. :)
Malaysia Boleh, ma!
