Malaysians look forward to the proposed reunion between Prime Minister Dato Seri Haji Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi with his predecessor Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad before Aidil Fitri.
This is no ordinary meeting. It is going to be a decisive meetup between the former Premier and the current Prime Minister where both parties had been sort of engaged in a 'cold war' of sorts between them all this while.
Both parties were either being goaded into being stubborn by unseen parties or their own egos.
We can call it as the 'Clash of the Ego's' between the two Titans of this nation! Anyway, both are not doing this nation any good by remaining stubborn or refuse to make amends and set things between them right.
Who is perfect out there? None, so to speak. We are saddled with the prevailing leadership with all their warts, moles and slip ups. Nobody is there whom we can rally behind right now. Sure, we would like so many things to be corrected and implemented by those who rule us.
The thing is, this nation is also known for it's government's redtape and office bureaucracies. No matter what century it's gonna be , attitudes and work habits by those in the government various ministries, agencies, departments and local authorities will always be as it is today.
The 'cold war' and egoistic feud between the two leaders sort of added further to the Malaysians problems of coping with higher costs of living and struggling to seek a living.
We hope that this Ramadhan will see both leaders put aside their differences, try to seek a reasonable solution to all their problems and surrender their egos to the Taufeek and Hidayah of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala!
May this Aidilfitri heal the wounds in their hearts and souls. May the current Prime Minister put to practice what he preaches and does not burden us the citizens of this nation any further by raising anymore of the prices of basic necessities as best as he can.
May the ruling government use this nation's resources to the benefit of the people and bring about a fair distribution of rights and facilities for us, Malaysians.
Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi needs to put his priorities right! The largest mandate given by us Malaysians to the Barisan Nasional is a trust that he needs to reciprocate by making life here in Malaysia easier for all and not be misconstrued as an open licence to do as he pleases!
Two more years down the road will see the current government be judged and accorded its due by the voting public. We just want to be given our dues and our rights to live a decent life , not be burdened by anymore new unnecessary price increases of our basic needs. That's all!
To Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad and Dato Seri Abdullah Badawi, I wish you both a Blessed Aidilfitri. Be sincere in apologising to each other and forget the past!
Remember, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is All Aware of who's right and who's wrong!
We can get away with anything here on Earth but in the Hereafter, nothing escapes His Judgement and even a matter as small as an atom will be weighed and accorded just retribution!
Happy Reunion to you both! May the Peace of Ramadhan be with you! Ameen Ya Allah!
