"Why did I criticize the Prime Minister ?" by Tun Dr.Mahathir

Here is a public statement by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad as to why he is still criticizing Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi , the current Prime Minister and his Government of Malaysia!

Click on the pictures to view and read them in a larger perspective.

It's ironic isn't it? The saga that is going on in our nation where a former Premier is so steadfast in his mission to expose and take to task, his anointed successor , the current Premier day in day out without a lapse!

Talk about being dogged in his mission to slaughter the current national # 1 leader whom he @ Tun himself selected from all other Cabinet ministers to take over from him in October 2003!

The scenario does not augur well for this nation!

Things are going to get much more dirty with more exposes of scandals and the airing of more dirty linen by the main players in this national political theatre!

We all know why Tun is still going for the jugular of Abdullah Badawi!

Abdullah Badawi has reneged on his promises to Tun Dr.Mahathir not to disturb or let Tun's pet projects to be cancelled or deferred by the Malaysian Government!

I do not think that Tun Dr.Mahathir is doing all this because he needs the money from those cancelled projects.

For all we know, all the Cabinet ministers both past and present are already well flushed with billions of ringgits in their accounts from all the connections and projects they have had a finger or two in.

This ongoing 'drama swasta' is more consistent with a 'Battle of the Ego's' between the former and the current Prime Minister's.

To say, that this is a classic case of the 'pot' calling the 'kettle' black is just too simplistic in it's entirety!

This is a case of the sole surviving former Prime Minister of Malaysia not being accorded the servitude and show of gratitude by the current 'Mr.Clean' Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi who has been exposed to be not that 'squeaky clean' as all imagined him to be!

Hello? Who is there in politics who is a 100% clean and free from all the 'ism's?

Nepotism, cronyism, kiasu'ism, ego'ism, sapu'ism, ngap'ism, cuci bersih'ism, and all other self enriching ism's?

We see classic exposes of a one term, two term local ADUN's building palatial mansions as they please without a care to the rules and guidelines of the country!

These are just State Exco's and we see such fellows be able to build palaces within a short space of time after coming into power and position!

Just imagine, the awesome riches and wealth that those who have been in the Cabinet can accumulate after being there in the ruling elite for a decade or two?

I don't have to name names but you all know who have been warming the ministerial seats for 20 over years and are dinosaurs from Mahathir's cabinet!

Is it any wonder why Malaysia is where it is and natural resources less Singapore is already leaps and bounds up above our nation's standards of achievements?

I for one am not saying that Tun Dr.Mahathir is free from sins and excesses but the old man has a firm footing as to the causes he is hurling at Abdullah Badawi's face and accusing the PM of!

We can all just say that both chaps are just the same and that none of them are really sinfree but we also need to realise that whtever these two do will and has an impact on our lifes!

Let's just keep our eyes on them and monitor the latest episodes in this ongoing political drama taking place before us.

Tun Dr Mahathir is currently being criticised, disgrace, and discredited for voicing the people’s unhappiness and the country’s sovereignty. Yet, the issue raised has not been answered satisfactorily by the Prime Minister.

In facing this “onslaught”, Tun has written an open letter to all Malaysians dated 27th October, 2006 to explain why he is questioning the Government. Those wishing to read the letter and other open letters from Tun and his office can download from the following address:

Since the mainstream media have stopped giving Tun opportunity to response, we hope you could help spread this letter to the people. The least would be to spread the web address to enable the people to download and read it.

Thank you.

salam all,

mahaguru, didn't know you had an interest to go into the foray of politics.

what really worries me most is the stability of this country. we are spreading such hathred and dissatisfaction in this country which CAN be remedied by our own selves by changing our ways, lifestyle, etc...

i am worried if people keep firing the anger up and channel it the wrong way, a rusuhan and perbalahan kaum may happen. may 13 all over again.

can we please sort our griviences in a more productive and positive manner?

our country's stability and harmony is at stake here. please be wise! you have to be bigger than the problems you are facing!

Wa'alaikumsalam dear Meriza,

First of all, let me wish you a 'Blessed Eid Mubarak' for you and your family. Hope you have had a wondeful time with them.

I would also like to let you know that I feel it will be a loss if you stopped blogging. Your blog system seems to be a bit uncompatible with certain browsers hence the difficulties in leaving comments.

I did once or twice and the system especially the verification thingy seems not working at times. The numbers and alphbets will go missing.

Okay, back to topic.

I am as they say, a Jack of all trades but Master of some.

I mainly am involved in Dakwah but also keep tabs on what is taking place in our Malaysian political scene.

You can't stay away from it. It affects our life and futures, whether we like it or not.

As a voting citizen, I do keep myself updated as to all that goes on regarding the political happenings and upheavals.

The thing I see here is a Clash of the Ego's of two men who do forge how things go here in Malaysia.

I am not that happy with the way Abdullah Badawi has made life here more unbearable for us due to his raising the fuel prices and his manner of handling issues relating to the sanctity and observance of Islam in our land.

I am not that happy with his 'Islam Hadhari' nonsense!

Rasul SAW left us a complete Way of Life in Islam. This fella tries to show that he knows better. The reality is that maksiat as we know it is at an all time high due to his inadept manner of running the country.

For me as a Muslim, I see AAB as a weak, full of rhetoric, N.A.T.O. fumbler.

Hence , my vote is definitely not for this Jelly Belly.

Whether the people like it or not, Tun Dr.Mahathir, with all his faults and ego trips still has done a lot for Malaysia.

Yes, he seems to be stubborn and recalcitrant in asking AAB to answer all his dissatisfactions but that is his right.

The present government is full of lackeys and do as I say ; don't do as I do characters.

With whatever little influence we bloggers have, we need to speak out against such excesses or be doomed to live a miserable life under their misrule!

May 13 is a thing of the past!

Malaysians today do not have it in them to get passionate abt anything!

People no longer care as to what takes place in this land save for a few diehard Opposition members and a very small fraction of the politicians in the BN!

Things will go from bad to worse if we do not speak up about things we are not that happy about!

You have your views and you have raised them here for us to read. I welcome the feedback as I am sure others here do too.

That's part of complying to a hadith of the Prophet SAW.

To stop injustice that takes place before us with our hands (power) if we can; to speak up against it with our voices and our writings (as we do here) or to just hate it in our hearts (which is a sign of those weakest in Iman) and a sign of those close to Kufr!

I for one will continue to write and comment as long as I shall live and will join with those who seek a better future for us all.
Insya Allah.

I am being as I see best according to the sitution at hand!

Do you see me writing instigative things asking people to go run riot in our streets?

I have always favored a dialogue instead of resorting to violence.

If the situation however turns to being a choice between taking up arms to defend one's life and self, then that's a totally different matter!

You can't wish a mortal enemy who stands ready to harm you and your loved ones away!

Even the Prophet SAW waged war to defend himself and his family, this ummah and our Deen!

So, we act accordingly. Allah SWT knows me best. Insya Allah.

Wabillahi taufeek walhidayah.

Wassalamualaikum.
