The Unhealthy Trend In Today's BN Government!

"A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude.": Aldous Huxley, Brave New World.
Those of you who watched the proceedings of last
week's UMNO General Assembly telecast live over
Astro's Channel 94 must have felt the same way I
did when I nearly threw up over the way some of the delegates
went overboard
with praising the UMNO President with their unabashed accolades
which is
contrary to the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW)

In
Sahih Al Bukhari, Book of Al-Adab (Good Manners), Chapter 21.
Hadith 2033, Page 959:
Narrated Abu Bakra (Radhiallahu Anhu):
A man was mentioned before the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and another man
present, praised him (the one being mentioned) greatly!

The Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam said,
"May Allah's Mercy be upon you! You have cut the neck of your friend!"

The Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam repeated this sentence many
times and then said,"If it is indispensable for anyone of you to praise someone,
then he should say ' I think that he is so and so,
' if he really thinks that he
( the person being praised) is such. Allah is The One Who will take into his
accounts
(as He Knows the Reality- regarding the one being praised) and
none can sanctify anybody before Allah SWT!
"
Sadaqa Rasulullah (SAW)

The lessons from the hadith above teaches us not to go overboard in praising
someone ,especially so when that someone is present.

He or she will get bigheaded and swell with pride, thus endangering him or
herself to the sin of 'Ri'ya' @ Self Adulation! Narcissistic as someone labelled me
the other day! Na'uzubillah!

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala knows me best. I am nothing but a speck of dust
before all the others who are so much more exalted in their iman and amals.
So,please, spare me your curses, praises and your labels! I don't need them.
Wallahi!

Back to the subject at hand.
It is an unhealthy trend for the ones trying to impress Prime Minister Abdullah
Haji Ahmad Badawi in sucking up to the man by going overboard in adulating
him and bending over backwards in kissing his hands, to show the PM that he
is so great, so magnificient, so special, so extraordinary and super this and that,
that they unknowingly (or knowingly) have caused great harm to Abdullah Badawi
that he is in danger of forgetting his roots.

Abdullah Badawi is in danger of becoming someone whom he himself would not
want to be that is a man who would be arrogant, dictatorial, and someone who
would think that he can do anything and get away with it.

I myself get criticised by those who see me getting too comfortable with my
'narcissistic tendencies' hence they sort of give me the 'wake up call' before I
lose sight of my objectives. I welcome such reprimands but I don't have to share
such comments with all. I keep them to myself. They are meant to be as a form
of personal guidelines. Alhamdulillah.

Abdullah Badawi on the other hand needs to be alert and aware of turning into
the very person whom he doesn't want to be in the first place.
A dictator worth the label.

For someone who is seen to be a softie and compassionate in heart, these
'ball carriers' in UMNO and in the ruling government are a potential virus that
can and will corrupt his heart and his soul to be so enamoured with praise and
self adulation, that he can end up being worse than his predecessor!

A leader of this multi racial, multi religious, country that is Malaysia, must
always shy away from such over adulation and keep it in his heart that he is
just a simple humanbeing!

Abdullah Badawi needs to constantly reflect on all the great leaders of mankind
who lived before him and who ruled over greater empires of civilisation, so much
more greater than this small nation that we have.

What happened to them? Where is Caesar ? Where is Alexander the Great?
Where is Genghiz Khan? Where is the Shah of Iran? Mao Tse Tung, etcetera?
What happened to all the Emperors and Kings of old? Where are they now today?

Gone. Dead and buried. Earth to earth. Dust to dust! Returned to the Creator as
we all will be!

The only thing remaining is their history. Their deeds and their accomplishments.
Their conquests and their mistakes. Their legacy for mankind. To learn from their
successes and also their losses.

Pride and vanity will only bring about the downfall of any leader. Too much
adulation from those who have vested interests will only lead to an early doom.
A downfall that will obliterate any good that he or she has done. This unhealthy
culture of 'fanning' one's pride and ego has to be nipped in the bud!

When Mukhriz the son of the former premier Mahathir expressed his viewpoints
that Abdullah Badawi spoke of nothing new in his address, the man was being
honest.

He, being, the seed of his father, Mahathir Mohamad, was just being himself, in
stating the facts that to him, Abdullah Badawi has not spoken of anything new,
anything out of the norm, that can make him get all excited and abuzz with
expectations of achieving a new frontier, a new vision and mission, as his father
has done for this nation.

He is today, being hounded, by all the PM's adulaters and being pushed into a
corner, being threatened with dismissal from his post as an Executive Member of
UMNO Youth for he so dared to speak his mind!

This is what our nation's ruling government has become!

It has become like the UN, nothing but a rubberstamp to the dictates of the
superpowers such as the USA and the UK plus their European Union.

Malaysia is in grave danger of being led to anarchy if we, the citizens just keep
our mouth shut and do not remind these corrupt souls up there in the government
to return to the basics.

Observe and practice governance over us according to the Qur'an and Sunnah of
the Rasul SAW.

Mere rhetoric of Islam Hadhari this and that which is an innovative form of saying
that they know better than the Prophet of Allah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam and
that Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is a latter day Muslim saint is only going to destroy
his sincerity if he ever was when he took office to turn into a vicious self
adulating person who holds power over us, the citizens of this nation.

The UMNO politicians also need to refrain from being swept into the pitfalls of
racial bigotry by threatening to destroy other ethnicities just because a few
rotten heads and hearts amongst the latter day Chinese and Indians fail to
realise that all of us have the rights to co-exist in peace, harmony and mutual
respect with one another.

The DAP and other Opposition parties would do well to exercise restraint and
proper usage of words to highlight to the ruling government as to where they are
going wrong.

Name calling and shouting like uncivilised people in Parliament has not advanced
their causes so far! When one sheds any inhibition of behaving appropriately as
members of a hallowed institution such as the House of Parliament, the highest
legal assembly of this nation's leaders, then what is the point of all those
honorifics being put before one's names...such as the 'Yang Amat Berhormat' @
'The Most Respected', ; 'Yang Berhormat' @ 'Respected' and so on and so forth?

We, the citizens are grateful to be able to see the live telecast of the UMNO
General Assembly this year! We have been able to see and hear how the UMNO
delegates really were. We also got to see the way our nation's ruling ministers
spoke and behaved.

UMNO needs to expose itself as to what it really is by having more such live
telecasts. By doing so, the citizens will be able to gauge the calibre of the
persons who have been elected by them in the first place and whether we should
vote for them again or vote in fresh, more rational, more sincere personalities
who do what they are supposed to do than to go overly praise the PM and kiss
his hands so that they get to impress him and to go get into the PM's good books!

We also need to be given the opportunity to watch live telecasts of the
Opposition parties General Assemblies, so that we can evaluate how those folks
are in the real sense.

Too much censorship will only mislead the voting citizen to cast their votes for
the 'made for TV, edited versions that do not show us the real deal with the
ruling government or the Opposition.

Lastly, we are no longer restricted to one source of information as the days of
yore! With the advent of the internet and telecommunications, we have before us
alternative sources of info from non government radio and television services.

Sooner or later, whatever truth that has been withheld from us will surface in the
most unexpected, most unthought of places, so, please be truthful before God
and rule over us with wisdom.

Speak sincerely as befitting your roles as representatives of the people of
Malaysia, failing which, you can kiss that seat of power 'goodbye' in the next
General Elections.

To the Prime Minister of Malaysia, I ask that you just remember that the trust of
the people is upon you!

You need to rule over us as what Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and the Rasul
Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam have entrusted you with.

Be kind to us and show us your understanding and compassion.

Remember, we have nowhere else to go but live and die here as rightful citizens
of Malaysia.

Malays, Chinese, Indians, Sikhs, Orang Asli's, Sabahans, Sarawakians and all
other ethnicities who are at the mercy of those of you who call the shots here
today!

In the Yaum al Akhirat, even you and all the ruling folks in government will be at
the Mercy of Allah!

So, remember, do not listen to all those 'budaya ampu mengampu' that will lead
to your and our ruin!

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala guide those of you in government and us the
citizens! Ameen!
