Terang Bulan and Negara Ku - Similar but not the same!

In the spirit of celebrating our nation's 50th Anniversary of achieving Independence from the last colonial British Masters on 31st August, 1957, let's listen to a rendition of 'Terang Boelan' by an Indonesian beach travelling quartet, the Shurshar Boys at Sanur Beach, Bali Island, People's Republic of Indonesia.

The rhythm is so similar to our beloved national anthem 'Negara Ku'. Just listen and enjoy the close links we have between us and our Nusantara neighbouring nations.

It doesn't matter that the rhythm sounds similar. The important thing is that the lyrics, the spirit and the meaning of these words in our National Anthem 'Negara Ku' that each and every Malaysian who is born on this land, must appreciate and takes to heart the meanings and significance of it.

Love our heritage and appreciate it as best as we can. Love it now or regret later when you lose it! Really! You won't know it till you experience it yourself.

Usually one doesn't know the value of anything whilst having it but will only start to realize its true worth and precious value when it is no longer with one.

Like our parents, loved ones, childhood, youth, health, wealth , rational thought, our Iman, our Deen and our nation plus its independence.

It is up to us to strive to improve ourselves as best as we can , within our capabilities and learn to be the best we can all be.

Be positive thinkers, rational thinking and do your best to live life well and not descend into disasters of your own making through irrational thoughts and haste decisions. Nurture your hearts and minds with gratitude towards Allah the Almighty and not be amongst the losers.

Happy 50th Birthday Malaysia!

May you prosper and progress in peace without forgetting your rich traditional roots and may your sons of this Earth comprised of the Malays, Orang Asli's, Chinese, Indians, Sikhs, Ibans. Kadazans, Eurasians, etcetera cherish this life that we have and learn to appreciate what we have with us now and not lose it all because of your citizens tendencies to constantly complain, grumble, seethe and explode every now and then for bloody racist and religious insensitivities.

May Almighty Allah bless you with peace , harmony, responsible governance and the upholding of His Supreme Constitution over all of us. Ameen Ya Rabbal Alameen.
