Malaysian Chinese Students Pre-Elections wishes
Listen to these two young Malaysian Chinese female students who shared their true heartfelt wishes to me this morning when I interviewed them during my morning walk in the park at Taman Pudu Ulu, Cheras , KL.
Among the issues that they were concerned about is the way our Malaysian education system is exam oriented and as a result adds on so much stress into their lives!
They also bemoan the fact that despite being born Malaysians, they face discrimination when they apply to public universities here?
As born Malaysians, they ask why the Malaysian authorities marginalize the Chinese and Indian ethnicities by making things so difficult for them in colleges and universities by imposing almost impossible conditions such as requirements for them to pass with A1 grades before getting any consideration for entrance into higher educational institutes?
I totally agree with these girls that our present state of government has been grossly unfair to such sterling young citizens of this nation!
To the next Government of Malaysia which will be announced tomorrow after the election results come in, I have a simple request.
Please remember that these are our students. They are rightful citizens of the Kingdom of Malaysia.
They are born here. Their status as rightful sons and daughters of this land must be respected and they be given their equal fair opportunities to achieve their goals and objectives based purely on merit!
When you start to discriminate against Malaysian citizens based upon their creed or skin color , then you do not deserve to rule over us, the very taxpaying Malaysians who voted you into office in the first place!
Slap yourself awake and realize that the year is 2008 and apartheid has no place in this country or in the true Islamic teachings that Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam has taught us?
Be fair to all or we'll kick your ass like a football in the elections tomorrow or if we fail to dislodge you tomorrow, rest assured that we'll get you in the next term!
Err...maybe you have yet to realize that the minute we step out of this country, no matter who the hell we are, we are called just by our nationalities?
They don't care whether you are a Malay, Chinese, Indian, Punjabi, Orang Asli or whatever?
They'll call us Malaysians! Don't you ever forget that!
Vote for change people! Tomorrow we call the shots!
Power to the Malaysians!
