Hedonistic Malaysia slip sliding its way to Disaster!

SadaqAllah Al Azhim.

Those of us Muslims who abide by these commandments of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and go do our duty towards our fellow Muslims by advising them against getting distracted by the current tendency to indulge in hedonism are accused by the ignorants amongst the Ummah or even by the Kaffirs of trying to be the moral police and asked to mind our own business?

If we who are true Muslims or those striving to be so are to listen to these ignorants, then we must be prepared to join them in the Hellfire which Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has prepared to those who defy Him?

If we are to mind our own business and just let the ones amongst our Ikhwanul Muslimin to go with the hedonistic flow that is sweeping this going crazy country, then we have no reasons to remain as Muslims and claim to be amongst those who submit to Allah Azza Wa Jalla!

The true Muslim must not listen to these wayward voices of those who are Kuffur towards Ar Rahman and instead remain firm and strong against all these Jahiliyyah's Laknatullah's!

I for one will remain committed towards my duty as a Muslim and continue calling my fellow Muslims towards the Mercy and Salvation that Allah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem has prepared for us.

Insya Allah.

I care not about those Ahlul Maksiat who wish that I would join them in their ways or mind my own business as they wish?

This is my business. Calling my fellow Muslims to the Truth of Islam and together with my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters do what we can to stop the rot!

I couldn't care less about the objections of those who remain defiant towards the Commandments of Almighty Allah and also to my detractors out there.

La haula wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyul azhim bil sulthanik!

The Muslims of today have before them unlimited access to the religious knowledge and resources of 'Ilm.

No one can claim ignorance anymore as to what Islam asks of him or her due to the abundance of the wealth of information lapping at their selfs from both the online and offline multimedia sources globally.

A second doesn't go by without an event that tends to distract a large majority of this nation's population from wasting their precious remaining time that they have left in their life by spending their time gawking at the singers, dancers and actors of this pretentious so called Islamic nation or partying away at some disco, concert or through the multimedia broadcast television or radio channels!

Tremendous amounts of money is being wasted in promoting or propagating hedonistic pursuits whilst the welfare and charity of the common people of this country is being neglected by the current Government of Malaysia practically throughout the passage of time.

Even the Malay Sultanates are splurging the resources of this country and remaining indifferent to the moral, social and economic decline of the Muslim masses over whom they are supposed to protect and take care of by going along with the wasteful practices of the ruling authority who spend so much of the taxpayers money which could and should be used to provide for the country's poor and suffering millions, regardless of their creed or ethnic background?

I fear for this nation.

Calamities after calamities which were unheard of are now occurring at frequent intervals which to me seems to be a premonition of worsening disasters which will render this country untold devastation as a result of the raging hedonism that is practically swamping our beloved motherland by each passing second whilst the masses are fast drowning themselves with nonstop entertainment!

A growing majority of Muslims here in Malaysia are oblivious to their responsibilities to be upright Muslims worth their name and many are just pretending to be Muslims in the real, actual sense of the word!

Although outwardly, the Muslims might seem to be more Islamic by way of their dressing but in the urban areas, I see lots more Muslims who go about appearing like Jahiliyyahs and behaving as such?

The masjids of this nation get full up only during the Friday prayers but the majority of those who go there are ignorant of the do's and don'ts of attending the Juma'at prayers.

Many flock around traders and medicine sellers who hawk their goods oblivious to the Khutba that is being read by the Khatib in the masjids.

This is the scene that I took after the Juma'at prayers. It was a larger crowd when I first came upon them when the Khutba was about to be read.

Na'uzubillah himin zalik! When will my fellow Muslims ever learn?

In the Qur'an, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala commands us :

O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew! (Qur'an 62:9)

I know that Muslims of today are easily distracted by the outside attractions of traders who display their merchandise or trade goods because of the way the Khatibs of today are just reading prepared texts from JAKIM and at times such readings do not really have any significance to the issues that the particular community or congregation are facing which in turn drives them away to the sidewalks bordering the masjid compounds.

The Khatibs read instead of preach as they should!

Yes, the Khatibs of today are reduced to reading prepared texts by the so called Islamic Development Department of the Federal Government of Malaysia contrary to the Sunnah of Rasul Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam where Khatibs are supposed to preach to the attending Muslim jama'ah and speak about current issues that affect the Ummah of the area.

All these deviations from the true practices of Islam have resulted in a superficial display of Islam which does not have its roots in the actual Ad Deenul Islam as commanded to us by Allah Azza Wa Jalla and what the Blessed Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam has enjoined us to live our life's by?

The majority of Malaysia's Muslims are living a life steeped in hedonism and parents are so proud to have their sons or daughters turn to earning their livelihood as singers and artistes.

As the majority of Malaysia's Muslims are Malays, its not a surprise to see this particular ethnicity drown in Maksiat and commit Al-Munkar without any hindrance as the so called Islamic oriented authorities are the very patrons and sponsors of all these hedonistic pursuits!

The repercussions of all these hedonistic pursuits bear fruit in the growing number of illegitimate offspring's of the going crazy Malay majority who are thinking that 'it's okay in Malaysia?'

All the burgeoning cases of adultery, unbridled sexual promiscuity and wanton acts of socially and morally abhorable displays of social rot are arrogantly highlighted by the media of this country and many seem fixated in getting into the media spotlight unashamedly just to be regarded as those who are the glamor puss and society's creme de la creme.

Where is all these going to lead the country's citizens?

The rulers of this country are those who will be held responsible for the decline of its people in the moral and social aspect of their fast degrading life's.

I can just pray that Muslims who are reading this will reflect on the actual reality plaguing us and do what is necessary to stop the rot from destroying this land in the real sense of the word failing which just brace ourselves to face the impending disasters that are coming at us?

Na'uzubillahi min zalik!

Salam....

Sometimes I feel that khatibs appeared to sing a lullaby rather than preaching Muslims. Maybe after this Religous Authorities train khatibs to preach instead of read Khutba texts.

mahaguru58,

So what do you think should be done to keep the so call 'hedonistic Malaysia' at bay?

Just a thought; I really hope you would not suggest our female school students wear burqa.

*sigh*

Assalamualaikum firestonez,

My thoughts exactly. The Mimbar must be freed from JAKIM's grip.

The Khatibs must return to preaching current issues and advice the Jamaah instead of being used as a government tool to indoctrinate the Muslims as to what the Government wants them to listen to and blindly follow or be shepherded to a state of submission to the Government of the day instead of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

Assalamualaikum alhadee.

The Malaysian Muslims form of dressing is modest enough and we do not need to don the burqa as in Afghanistan or whatever as you try to imply?

Are you trying to be funny with me?

A true Muslim will not be trying to mock other Muslims when we speak up on the eroding of values and the spiraling waves of maksiat that is destroying the social fabric of our society.

I figure secularists like you will rather have the Turkish Kamal Ataturk style of 'Islam in Name Only' flourish here, wouldn't you?

When I say hedonistic tendencies are destroying the moral and social fibre of this country's so called Muslim populations, I mean just that!

No idiot is asking anyone to go don the burqa, purdah or whatever?

It is the presumptions of secularists and liberalists like you that are making a mockery of rational and reasonable callings of Muslims who are just looking out for our fellow Muslims in this country.

At the end of the day, when you do expire from this earth, I sure hope that your remains are not handled by any orthodox fundamentalist Muslims for they will only be according you rites that I suppose you would not want if you are able to object?

Hey, just live as you please man and let us fundamentalists take care of our fellow diehard Muslims as what Allah SWT and Rasul Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam enjoins us, huh?

After all, nobody gives a hoot about secularists or liberalists in my book!

So, just be upfront about it and live your secular life man as what you wish?

If you care so much about Islam, best for you to stick to what Allah SWT and His Messenger Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam enjoins rather than try to interpret Islam as you please!

Wassalamualaikum.

mahaguru58,

No 1: Nobody is trying to be funny. I really do hope that you don't come up with half baked suggestions.

No 2: As for Kamal Atartuk, I am not a big fan of his.

No 3: We don't need Atartuk, we already have too many 'Islam in Name Only' around, inside and outside mosques

No 4: Maybe the reason why hedonistic cultures flourish is due to many 'Islam in Name Only' inside Mosque-in-Name-Only.

No 5: Look low at the hedonistic, Islam-in-Name-Only citizens especially the youngsters, if you must. But maybe it is worth it to find out why they shun mosques.

No 6: There exists entertainment and music at the time of the Prophet and people do attend them. But tell me why mosques at that time, simple as it, attract more people? Compare to how many go to mosques to lepak these days with how many go to concerts.

No 7: Something is very wrong with the way Islam is being portrayed in this 21st century.

No 8: As for 'interpret Islam' as I please, why shouldn't I when the politicians and Mullahs are freely doing it for their own interest?

alhadee,

What half baked suggestions have I proposed so far?

So bloody arrogant and pompous of you to say so man!

I am just stating the situation as it is and have my ideas and plans to carry out Dakwah al Islamiyah efforts to counter the slide in the social and moral affairs of the Ummah unlike secularists like yourself who instead of helping the Ummah improve in their ways choose to castigate the ones who are concerned for the way Muslims are going the way of the Kuffars and Munafiks!

Give us your productive suggestions instead of adding fuel to the fire!

I am all ears.

No 1 : When I said; '..I really do hope that you....' means you have not done so and I am hoping you would not in any near future.

..the social and moral affairs of the Ummah unlike secularists like yourself..

No 2 : Who said secularist care nothing on the social and moral affairs? Do you think we overjoyed with the high crime rates?

No 3: Like I point out to you before, we have to analyze the causes and in the process to be honest with ourselves. Maybe we should talk about point 4, 6 and 8 in my previous posting.

Assalamualaikum alhadee.

Alhamdulillah. All praises be to Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Lord of us all.

I praise Him Who has created us and brought us together in this platform because I believe that everything that takes place in our life's here are for a reason?

I apologize to you if I have misread your comments and misunderstood your points, dear brother.

Its good that you have clarified that which I misread earlier.

Now, lets get to your points.

No 4: Maybe the reason why hedonistic cultures flourish is due to many 'Islam in Name Only' inside Mosque-in-Name-Only.

My answer:

I understand what you are trying to say here?

The way most masjid's are bing run today are really like a private clique where the masjid's AJK or Masjid Committee are made up of certain people who have a certain pompous outlook against others who are not within their 'inner circle'.

I for one have seen this kind of 'inner circle clique' exist in almost each and every masjid that I have prayed in and I have advised the masjid authorities to refrain from behaving so?

Usually the ones who are the root cause of such 'we know better than you' types are made up of the elderly ones who behave so because they have been to Makkah and think that because they have become 'Hajji's, they are a class better than those who have yet to do so?

Their attitudes worsen when they are religiously trained and have a few 'Thanawi's up their walls and EGO sets in.

Not everyone is so but usually if there is someone like that in the Masjid Committee, he will be the one who is the instigator or the religious terror who wreaks havoc in the masjid.

It takes wisdom and patience in advising such elders and if carried out properly, usually we might be able to turn them around.

I succeeded in doing so with one recalcitrant elderly Muslim in Masjid Kapitan Keling Penang, where the elder used to chase away tourists who wanted to visit our masjid.

With wisdom and patience, I managed to enlighten him with Allah's Taufik & Hidayah that those visitors were guests of Allah Subhanahu Wa ta'ala and that he has been chosen by Allah SWT to be their host and finally it became clear to him he has been wrong all the while in refusing those tourists entry to the historical masjid.

From that day on, he turned into the most welcoming Muslim that tourists found at the famous masjid and although he spoke no English would usher them to our Islamic Centre without fail till the day that he died .

He was given a fitting janazah burial service at the very masjid and his funeral was attended by many who knew him.

May Allah SWT bless his soul Ameen.

No 6: There exists entertainment and music at the time of the Prophet and people do attend them. But tell me why mosques at that time, simple as it, attract more people? Compare to how many go to mosques to lepak these days with how many go to concerts.

My views:
You must understand that the Muslims during the Prophet SAW's time had rock solid Imans compared to the fragile and crumbling Imans of those who are 'Muslims in Name Only' of today?

Those who frequent the masjids of today have their own stories to tell and each has his or her own reason behind their coming to or staying away from the masjids.

Capped by the 'we know better than you' masjid inner circles attitude problems, many stay away from spending time in the masjid out of their own personal crisis, and Allah SWT knows best as to what are the real reasons?

No 8: As for 'interpret Islam' as I please, why shouldn't I when the politicians and Mullahs are freely doing it for their own interest?

My response:

No matter what anyone does, rational Muslims must stick to what Allah SWT and His Messenger SAW have left us?

If we misinterpret Islam, we will be amongst those who are termed as those who introduce 'Bida'ah al Lawwamah' @ Accursed Innovations
and be guilty of introducing 'Fitnah' into the Faith or cause misguidance in the Ummah.

Surely, we do not want to be so?

Just stick to what is revealed in the Blessed Al Qur'an Al Kareem and the authentic Hadiths of Rasulullah SAW.

Insya Allah, we will be alright.

Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah.

Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

I apologize to you if I have misread your comments and misunderstood your points, dear brother.

Apologies accepted. I am not exempted from this mistake from time to time.

'..I for one have seen this kind of 'inner circle clique' exist in almost each and every masjid that I have prayed in and I have advised the masjid authorities to refrain from behaving so?..'

If that is so, then you are vindicated.

May Allah SWT bless his soul Ameen.

Ameen.

You must understand that the Muslims during the Prophet SAW's time had rock solid Imans

Rock solid Imans. A relevant next question should be, why is that they had so while many present Muslims have not?

In my line of work, I did come across men who perform 5 daily prayers and yet very much into corruption.

I am not making this up. Admittedly I am not religious but things like this do make me wonder; what's a prayer's worth?

Don't they have shame to face Allah and recite verses from the Qur'an and yet lead a life of a sinner?

So what went wrong?

'..and Allah SWT knows best as to what are the real reasons?..'

I believe they didn't find what they are looking for in the Masjids.

If we misinterpret Islam, we will be amongst those who are termed as those who introduce 'Bida'ah al Lawwamah'

Before I proceed further to discuss what constitute the 'misinterpretation', it would be worthy to say something about the term of 'Bida'ah al Lawwamah'.

I thought the Hadith in relation to Bida'ah only specifically mentioned Bida'ah. Yet Muslims came up with the term 'Bida'ah al Lawwamah' and 'Bida'ah Hasanah'. Isn't dividing the Bida'ah into categories, one is accepted and another is not, is a Bida'ah itself since the Prophet never categorized it as such?
