Gopal Raj Kumar ~ 'Going against the grain' blogger.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Dear fellow Malaysians,

It is rare to find someone like Gopal Raj Kumar nowadays in the blogosphere.

A fellow Malaysian who speaks from his heart and shares his views out loud in his blog here.

A lawyer friend of mine, Mr.Quintin Rozario who resides in Queensland, Australia emailed me this morning and alerted me to Mr. Gopal's writings.

Quite impressed I must say for his candidness in tackling issues that were and are still considered as taboo by many who fear reprisals and repercussions for 'calling a spade just that' here in the open online media.

I am sure that Mr.Gopal Raj Kumar is not going to be a favorite of the anti establishment factor in our local blogging scene for his open counter assault against the nation's top faultfinding bloggers both identified and anonymous.

There is such a thing as principled blogging and those who prefer to be cybersnipers here in the blogging world.

Mr Gopal Raj Kumar shines forth as a 'take no prisoners' kind of attorney who doesn't mince his words when blogging about those who are the major players in the blogging field of our nation.

I recommend his writings to those who would like to purview an alternative angle on matters that are being discussed about the latest news and views here in Bolehland.

After all, aren't we who are bloggers supposed to see things from all perspectives before coming to any conclusion as to how and where we should stand with regard to speaking the truth and upholding it no matter that it might even not be in line with our own principles or judgments?

Its good to refresh and reformat our values every now and then in order to stay alert and up to date with whatever is taking place all around us?

Gopal Raj Kumar is a welcome relief from all the hate filled hype that is being bandied about nowadays laced with pure hatred and chauvinism out there in the pretext of fighting against injustice and racism.

When push comes to shove, it has been proven time and times again that sometimes those who make the most noise aren't exactly that squeaky clean themselves in the first place!

Go Gopal Go! Rock the world!

Thanks Zainol. I still like that photo of mine which I have no longer a copy of. I have grown greyer since.

What I have found particularly interesting is Gopal's articles is his analysis of the 'outrage' by Catholics ( I am one) at the Al Islam investigative journalists report on the Holy Communion. It also includes his analysis of that journalists alleged acts of desecration of the Holy Communion bread. If true then it is certainly contrary to Islamic teachings, tolerance and human descency. I too like many others was seething with rage when I first read of it on blogsphere. I have altered my stance since and leave an open mind on the issue.

I am also interested in Gopal's blog for what it does, that does not blindly follow the rage of an opposition that has to date (to my mind at least) failed to fairly and squarely attack those issues common to every Malaysian rather than to be race specific.

I am somewhat distrubed by a more recent article on his blog about an individual who was a teacher at my former school in Malaysia which perhaps is a bit harsh. But there is good and bad in us all.

I hope your fast goes well.

May peace be with you brother Quintin,

As much as we all disagree with the manner by which those two Al Islam magazine journos went in to check out the Catholic Church as to whether there were any apostates from the Malay community there that day, we do have to admit that these suspicions will always be part and parcel of this melting pot of ethnicities nation.

Just like any business, there is always the matter of demand and supply.

Magazine readers crave for new exposes, fresh new take on certain issues, etc in order to go ahead and purchase the latest edition of whichever publication it is that strikes their fancy?

In the case of Al Islam Magazine, they might have thought that there's no harm in sending in those two to the Christian house of worship and get the facts right.

That was their mistake. The rest is history. We hear that the case is still being investigated, etc.

As far as GRK's writings go, they are his own and he has the right to speak as he wishes provided he doesn't libel anyone in the process.

If he or any of us do that, we will just have to shoulder the burden and answer for our deeds.

“Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.” — Muhammad, The Farewell Sermon

Ethic of reciprocity appears in the following statements attributed to Muhammad:

"Seek for mankind that of which you are desirous for yourself, that you may be a believer; treat well as a neighbor the one who lives near you, that you may be a Muslim [one who submits to God]."[29]

Greatest of all is :

Jesus then proceeded to tell the parable of the Good Samaritan, indicating that "your neighbour" means a total stranger, or someone that happens to be nearby. Jesus' teaching, however, goes beyond the negative formulation of not doing what one would not like done to themselves, to the positive formulation of actively doing good to another that, if the situations were reversed, one would desire that the other would do for them. This formulation, as indicated in the parable of the Good Samaritan, emphasises the needs for positive action that brings benefit to another, not simply restraining oneself from negative activities that hurt another.
