For far too long, the ulamaks of this country and its Malay Sultans have been playing footsie with the erosion of Islamic values and principles over which both parties lay claim to represent and hold authority of!
For a country that boasts of being a moderate Muslim nation, this country is rife with all kinds of sins and debauchery that would shame even communist or so called christian countries?
You want hedonism? Malaysia has plenty to offer. We even have a vibrant casino up above the clouds at Genting Highlands. Yes sirree! Gamblers come from all over Asia and the whole wide world to roll some dice and play poker, black jack, roulette, etc high above the rolling hills of Bentong, Pahang.
We used to have the Social Welfare Lottery peddlers come visit the households in kampongs and as I remember clearly, many of my fellow villagers especially the elderly folks @ Malays and Indian Muslims used to buy such lotteries openly back in the 60s to 70s.
Halal haram wasn't known to many ignorant kampong folks back then and I remember seeing many Malays queuing up at the 4 Digit store at Jalan Jelutong, Penang. For a kampong kid just about 12 back then in the late 60s, the sin of gambling didn't seem to be a big deal because I was not that knowledgeable about my faith in those times.
Malay womenfolk used to go about wearing just baju kebaya's and modern dresses without covering their head or hair.
To many of us, simple villagers living in the 60s right up to the 80s, life was pretty much the same and we lived a life that can now be relived through the old Black & White P.Ramlee movies.
Muslims in Malaysia were nonchalant about the true tenets of the Islamic faith until the advent of religious groups such as the Al Arqam movement.
It was like a renaissance of the true Islamic awareness that brought about a renewed interest in the basic principles of our faith and I recall starting to see our kampong womenfolk start to adopt and adorn the hijab which was known as tudung Al Arqam.
Islamic knowledge then started to be taught and spread through the various religious classes throughout the country and slowly but surely a change took place in the way we who are Muslims in Malaysia dress and behave as enjoined in our faith.
Yet, ignorant Muslims both in the general populace and amongst the so called cream of the crop remained defiant and didn't bother about adhering to the dictates of our religion of Islam. Right to this day, the ones who are supposed to be this nation's ruling elite defy the commandments of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and continue to live a life that can only be considered as that of the Kaffirs.
These great pretenders don the garb of the religious and pious only when the situation warrants such an outfit and having to make a public appearance.
In the exclusive realms of the palatial mansions they call as their official homes, these hypocrites wine and dine as they damn well please, often putting even the Westerners to shame with their opulence.
All these decadent lifestyles of the bloody rich and damn well infamous takes place far from the roving eyes of the nonchalant public but in these times of the internet and hi tech gadgetry world of communication, at times such frivolous going on's get captured on digital video and often ends up in the gossip forums online and also gets emailed to independent media activists such as bloggers like yours truly and it is we who decide whether its worth our while to broadcast it to you, the reading public?
All these while, I have been patiently observing the gradual build up of these social ills yet at times I do voice out when I could bear it no longer and take to task these betrayers of the public trust who masquerade as the righteous rulers of us here in this country.
Today, Najib Tun Razak has crossed the unspoken boundaries of Malaysian Muslims forbearance and he deserves to be reprimanded severely for this blatant betrayal of the nation's citizens who deserve a better standard of decent living free from the social ills and sin that this current government under the BN seems to promote and make legal what is clearly forbidden in our Islamic teachings?
Najib Tun Razak's issuing of sport betting licenses to the Berjaya Group as reported here is clearly against the commandments of Almighty Allah here in Verse 219 Surah Al Baqarah, Chapter 2 of the Holy Al Quran Al Karim :
219. They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit."
Whey ask thee how much they are to spend?; Say: "What is beyond your needs."*****************************************************************************

Sadaqallah hal adzhim. Truthful indeed is Allah the Most Powerful.
Dear fellow Malaysians,
The outrage that this betrayal by Najib Tun Razak in allowing the sports betting which is clearly a form of gambling forbidden by Almighty Allah is being chastised not only by those of us who are Muslims but also by those Non Muslims as shown here in the comments section of a Malaysiakini report.
To quote a commenter in that particular report :
Beetle : To the king of Frogs, we would like to hear how you would defend Islam since this license is issued to your boss. Would you dare to raise your big mouth on this issue?? Is the BN government promoting gambling to the rakyat??? Does Islam allows gambling??? All this legalized gambling activities ( casino, empat ekor, horse racing, slot machines club and sport betting ) have to be stop if UMNO truly cares for the rakyat. If the ruling government continues to promote these haram activities then the government to stop calling itself an islamic nation. (It) Is an insult to Islam....
So much for 1Malaysia led by an obviously morally bankrupt gambling promoter in the form of Najib Tun Razak!I want to see what this nation's tens if not hundreds of thousands of those who declare themselves to be highly knowledgeable religious ulamaks having studied and graduated from the hallowed halls of the Al Azhar University of Egypt, Islamic University of Makkah al Mukarramah and University of Madinah al Munawwarah in Arabia, International Islamic University here in Malaysia and all other renowned Islamic Centres of Higher Islamic Studies are going to say about this licensing of sports betting here by Najib Tun Razak, the 'Prime Minister' of the 'Islamic Kingdom of Malaysia'?
Err.. don't hold your breath awaiting to hear what the Malay Sultans have to say about this latest screw up by Najib?
They are just playing safe ....as they have always been doing all these years.
Won't dare to rock the boat...
You can bet on that! :P
As a result of this criminal breach of our trust by Najib Tun Razak to lead Malaysians to a halal way of living, I hereby launch my cyber jihad against his decision to legalize gambling which is amongst the major sins forbidden in Islam!
If Najib Tun Razak doesn't repent and goes ahead with this haram decision of his, then I say that support for his government is Haram as well and I call upon all true Muslims and fellow citizens of this nation to condemn this betrayer of Al Islam jointly for he has made halal what is clearly a major sin in our faith!
May justice prevail and these transgressors of all that is good receive their comeuppance soon!
