From the boisterous vehement manner by which certain lawyers were up in arms against the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission's decision to share with the media and general public of the incriminating evidence in the form of wiretapped recorded audio clips of telephone conversations [video above] of former 6th Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, his wife Rosmah Mansor, ex-MACC Commissioner Dzulkifli Arshad, ex-Tabung Haji Chairman Azeez Rahim and several other persons who have been charged with misappropriation of the 1MDB Sovereign funds, we could say that something's just not right with this so-called legal fraternity.
For starters, aren't they sworn officers of the courts? Their obligations are to uphold justice and support those who fight for the truth and justice to prevail!
Despite the clarity of the recorded audio clips proving the identities of those who have been arrested and charged for offences related to the 1MDB scandal, these lawyers are so angry towards Madam Latheefa Koya, Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for sharing those audio clips with the public.
Yes, such a public sharing of high profile wiretapping has never been done by previous MACC Chief Commissioners but these are not any ordinary crooks or those that can be allowed to be considered negligible.
The perpetrators are the former 6th Malaysian Prime Minister under whose watch, the country almost went bankrupt and was in debt over a RM1,000,000,000,000.00 to Communist China!
That's a Trillion over Ringgits! Nearly sold us out to China!
Thus, Prime Minister Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad had to choose a person whom he could trust to lead the MACC @ Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission without fear or favour.
He saw that this time around, the MACC needed a strong person who could weather the storms and go through the proverbial gauntlet of fire in order to bring the crooks to justice.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad appointed Latheefa Koya, a no-nonsense, go for the jugular type personality, who has a reputation of not giving a rat's arse about getting hard if it is necessary to take down any criminal.
But as we have all witnessed, there was quite a number of those in high places who weren't that happy with the public exposure of those incriminating audiotapes by the SPRM headed by Latheefa Koya.
I for one am looking forward to seeing the kleptocrats properly charged in court for their thievery and made to pay for their crimes.
Those lawyers who made such a fuss about the SPRM and Latheefa Koya ought to be ashamed.
